Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

HOW CONVIENIENT!!!
It seems the IRS wasn't using SonoSoft for email archiving!
Their former VP of Sales was just on FOX News Channel, and said that the IRS only had disaster recovery software, and that if an email was deleted from the primary server it would also be deleted from the backup server. He had tried to convince the IRS in 2009-2010 to upgrade to email archiving, but they refused. I guess they didn't want to have to worry about coming up with those Lois Lerner emails!

  Whether or not the emails ever reappear, there is no way anyone can ever have confidence in the IRS. It's one thing to resent the IRS when they are just performing their chartered function but this is an entirely different thing. There is no integrity in their operations, standards, or political neutrality. Progressives should be equally concerned just as they were during the Nixon years.

Looks like that smidgen of no corruption has become a full shit stain. Subpoena the corporate executives, the IT managers and all those who did the backups by this company to testify in front of Congress. Then let Koskinen try and tell another committe that he doesn't feel an apology is necessary. This is getting good in one way and disgusting in another.
