Is sugar toxic?

Is sugar toxic? The Democrat-media complex hard at work to gin up a new public health “crisis” for their buddies in the lawsuit industry to fill the coffers with. Aye matey, thar’s gold in yon citizens’ cupboards!

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. • John, you should thankgod for Corporate greed.
Think how many children would be starving if it weren't for Corporate.

Think how many people would not have computers, mobile phones, tv, radio, microwaves, medicenes, cars, mobile homes, etc etc etc.

Just think john? With out corporate greed you would simply not be online.
I think that you have been misinformed about greed.

  • Of course sugar is toxic! So is hot sauce, water, oxygen, and that organic rabbit food the libtards like to munch on so much. Everything is toxic in sufficient quantity.

  • "Toxic: 1) of or related to poison, 2) poisonous"

Plutonium is toxic, strychnine is toxic, suger is not toxic. There are no safe levels of plutonium or strychnine but you can eat a teaspoon of sugar and not fall over dead. You can consume sugar every day and not fall over dead. What you have to do is manage your diet intelligently and consume sugar in moderation. Adults do this all the time without "experts" and politicians telling them to do so.

    • Yes, but didn't John or Mary Tyler Moore or Mary Poppins or somebody say, " a spoonful of sugar makes the strychnine go down!"? Oh yes along with Corporate Greed....keeps my stocks up nice and high, you go, you greedy bastards!!

  • I saw this report on "60 Minutes". People with a family history of diabetes or who are overweight should watch the sugar, but to say it's "toxic" by its very nature seems almost like an attack upon an industry. The media have their free speech rights but I think the beef industry sued Oprah Winfrey years back.

  • It's like anything else in this world. Moderation is key, and we don't nee government to be the moderators.

    • "Moderation is key". Wish I had thought of that last night when I thought that last shot of Jameson's was such a great idea.

    • But drb - WE can't be trusted to know what is best for ourselves and our families. We need "experts" to make these decisions, dole out the amount we are allowed, and decide in what form we are permitted to partake. Big Daddy Government will take care of us.

      • We need “experts” to make these decisions

Would those be the same experts that told us that saccharin was deadly, and put so many people out of work, only to later end up allowing it back on the market in a big OOPS!!!?

      • I'm a highly sought after medical professional (or so I've been told) so I think I can qualify as one of those quazi experts at least on a good day. Perhaps maybe.

        • YOU are not a gubmint official - hence you are not qualified to make determinations about anything. Our politicians know everything about everything. The rest of us need them to take care of us.

          • well what good wuz gettin a colidge edumacation then!?! Waisted monie to get a peace a paper! I swear! I cudda jus' sat on my hind quarters and really "broadened my horizons" as my mama usta say.
