  • I quit smoking a couple of years ago but not just for the health benefits but the price. Just think about the uproar we would hear from the states if everyone quit. My little state, New Mexico, collected over $70 million in ciggy taxes last year and the fools running this place would have a heart attack if all that money went away.

It would serve them right given that they think farting in public is more acceptable than smoking in a state or city park.

  • This was funny from a straight-up humor perspective. Substituting something as ridiculous as "social farting" for any other social activity is amusing.

What makes this stupid is the premise that social smoking is offensive enough to be equated with farting. What about social drinking? Or dancing? Why don't we compare them to "social farting" or "social nose-picking" or "social butt-scratching"?

So yeah - I see the humor, and I kind of applaud the cleverness, but the ad ticks me off. If people want to smoke, STFU and let them. If the people at their parties don't like it, they wont be invited. If the people at the parties don't mind, then who cares?

    • Lol...You left out the great American pastime, social crotch grabbing. If it is good enough for thousands of pro baseball players it's good enough for everyone!

  • My seven year old grandson would be laughing the entire length of that ad. But it's not a cartoon, it's a public service announcement aimed at adults who, the Democrats believe, don't know the dangers of smoking, drinking and driving, unprotected sex, running with scissors or voting Republican.

  • I think it's clever and ironic and great satire of those who dabble in anything, yet say they are not practitioners.
