UPDATE: We were duped and we apologize for the screw-up. Turns out these guys are common street hustlers, 21st century fakirs. But as TDK, the reader who alerted us to the fraud said, “There is plenty of direct evidence of (Muslim) stonings of women, hanging of opponents from cranes, locking girls in a burning school because they weren’t dressed ‘appropriately’, to need supplementing by grey evidence like this.” OK, that sentence may have been a bit convoluted, but TDK’s point is clear and valid.
The background story: An 8-year old child was caught stealing bread in an Iranian market. He is about to be punished “in the name of Islam” by having his arm crushed under a car.
These people are still living in the Dark Ages. For those liberal lunatics who want to pigeonhole us racists, let’s make it clear that we’re not condemning all Muslims. But we are condemning the ones who condone actions like this and the ones don’t speak out against it, just as we condemn those Muslims who condone terrorism and the ones who don’t speak out against it.
When you see photos like this, you must realize that turning a blind eye to the dark side of Islam is no longer an option.

Yes I remember this from YEARS ago and it was debunked. However like TDK says there are voluminous amounts of evidence of shariah "law" that would make anyone's stomach turn so regardless Fundamentalist Islam is not a religion of peace.
Now... the CULTURE (whichever the prominent religion) that would allow this practice to be done is despicable. Regardless of no "permanent" hurt on the child, the child is being abused, people are perhaps being extorted and this is unnecessary and in my opinion verging on evil.
The towel and the microphone! I think this is their form of our Friday Night Car Meet.
I'll admit I was confused by the use of a towel with this 'stunt' - it seemed like the towel would yeild more than the child's arm.
I agree Islam is barbaric and in no way the 'religion of peace' we are told, but I can't connect this sequence of events with the religion. Exploitation of a child and innappropriate to be certain, but I see nothing for a link between the two.
Main problem here is smart people everywhere still cal Islam a "religion:.
It;s NOT. It is a massive oppressive (Islam=Submit!) political, economic,
legal conspiracy based on the murder of those who resist inclusion in its subversive death-love. A COMPLETE SYSTEM-ORGANISM.
Ah here we are:
Snopes
Thanks for the info, TDK. Please note that we've done what liberal news outlets never do, which is to put the correction up quickly and prominently at the top of the story.
Heh! I like what you do and I am a Liberal (but only in the 19th century sense).
The article by the Snopes editors, uberlibs that they are, says no "lasting harm" is done, which implies that harm has occurred. Even as a form of hucksterism, this practice is demented. Islam is evil and barbaric. Period.
Those who don't like Snopes may be persuaded by Little Green Footballs who in 2005 published both the same story and then a correction (note: before he fell out of favour)
Here
No lasting impact??? Stunt or not, doesn't Snopes have compassion for a child who is being exploited like that? I don't trust Snopes anyway, just another liberal website.
I'm not defending what was done to the boy but I make two observations
1. Any criticism levelled at Islam is undermined by shoddy evidence
2. There is plenty of direct evidence of stonings of women, hanging of opponents, from cranes, locking girls in a burning school because they weren't dressed "appropriately" to need supplementing by grey evidence like this.
This is an old story and when I saw it the first time it was also labelled as Sharia Law in Action but I recall it turned out to be a stunt.
Everything I needed to learn about Islam I learned on 9/11/01. Where's Harry Truman when you need him?
Good god, these people are animals. I've seen photos like this in the past - women and old men getting stoned to death (and I don't mean by water bong), hands cut off for stealing. Of course, there's something wrong with ME if I say anything.
