• Waiting for the entire system to collapse, and it will sooner then everyone thinks. We have reached the point of no return, and it's not looking much better no matter what "Dear Leader" and his Lame Stream Media Cheerleaders say. Because of the entitlement culture, a lot of the people who made it on to Gravy Train have no inclination or incentive to go get a job, all they have to do is yell "I'm a victim", and the freebies continue.

The author should have included Kalifornia since we are about ten bucks from going going down the drain like soap bubbles. If Kalifornia continues its current trend (and it will with liberal shitbags in charge) Kalifornia will be the first of the states to collapse. If there was no Bay Area and No L.A. Kalifornia would be very conservative. But instead we are at the mercy of people who put nothing into the game and instead suck the life out of the rest of us. Kalifornia should be called the "Welfare Queen" state. You can get more here in benefits than some people make working in other states. We really are playing with other peoples money.

  And now are one watt light bulb of a governor wants to raise taxes on everyone ( temporarily =Bullshit)to help balance the budget. Two things NO TAX is every temporary, and second the deck is stacked with the mooches voting so they don't get their freebies cut and they can then be free to graze amoung the many agencies in Kalifornia for more freebies, while those of us who actually work (not many left) have to pay for the party these mooches are attending.

  Like I said Kalifornia should be a wake up call for the nation. when you have 32 million people and about 50 percent are living off the other fifty percent, it ain't gonna be long before the 50 percent paying either leave or go broke themselves. Add anti-business regulations, and out of control regulatory bodies like the Air Resources board and Coastal Commission and you have a socialist recipe for complete and utter failure. A mini Obama disaster in the making.

    Reading what economists have to say, bankruptcy and default seems inevitable for California. The only question is whether the federal government will try to save them. I don't see how the feds are any better off than California, so how can they possibly help?

    • California has a population of 36 million (give or take a few million illegals). It's too big to fail so the federal government (i.e. the taxpayers in the other 49 states) may attempt to bail the state out of its fiscal insanity; but the federal government is even more broke than the Golden State, where's the bail out money to come from? And what happens if other states go belly up?

      In this election years who knows what will happen; but I think California will vote Democrat no matter what Obama does. They never learn and they'll blame Bush anyway.

  • California may soon collapse but New York and Illinois will be right behind the Golden State. I have family in New York and they all complain about the never ending tax increases and the decline in public services. New York is like Kalifornia, the state would be conservative but it is politically dominated by liberal New York City (the home of Mayor Bloomberg, Anthony Weiner and Charles Rangel). Many people are leaving New York, especially college graduates, retirees and small businesses owners.

    Quick question: Which political party governs all three states?

    • Here in Washington State, it's the same: we have the sane people out east of the mountains, but it's the freaks of Seattle that rule the state.

• The people in charge of any government, no matter what kind, are always going to be takers and they will always justify their existance by claiming they're populists to some group of other people. The problem with socialism is that the unproductive overgroup gets the unproductive undergroup to do all of their dirty-work in eliminating all of the productive...and productivity. When that happens, everyone's f***ed!
