IMO, Food Network probably was looking to take her off the air anyway. Her whole schtick was southern cooking. That's the stuff that doesn't exist without a load of bacon fat. Sure we (I'm not Suthuhn, but I do love the food) eat our veggies. After we soak them in fat and fried bread crumbs and fry them in peanut oil. And then put a wad of butter on top. And eat them with a buttered biscuit.
But lately, she started going more toward a lower fat, healthier set of recipes. There no longer was much of a point left to watching her shows.
Hollywood types get a pass on all that. When the basic parameter is that they are all Pure Good, there is no racism, no stereotyping, no offending. And if you were to suggest any, they would look at you as if you’re some underevolved, knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing troglodyte who does not recognize Truth when it is staring you in the face. Because any such accusation (statement of fact, really), doesn’t jive with their preconceived notions of Pure Goodness.
So one of the Baldwin idiots can suggest that a Republican legislator should be stoned to death. Some femenazi can say that “there are too many Catholics on the Supreme Court”.
Wasn’t it Eminem who went off on a gay-bashing tirade? And after a modicum of outrage (approx equal to what we heard after Jesse’s “hymietown” comment), he was on stage with Elton John at some awards show? Really? He changed his ways that fast? If you believe that, then please explain how that works to Paula Deen.
