John Kerry laments Dick Lugar’s primary loss. The Senator from Ketchup is not amused that these fly-over country peasants did not read his memo on Dick Lugar’s right to this seat. Where do they get off thinking a “Senator from Indiana” represents them? He will smite them but good – none of them will ever eat lunch on one of his yachts again.

Indiana is 15 minutes from me over the Kennedy Bridge. They can and should have a Senator much more conservative than Lugar. Mourdock will win in November and Romney will put Indiana back in the Republican electoral count.

The Kennedy Bridge linking Louisville to Indiana was built between 1961 and 1963. It was unnamed at first, but four days after JFK's assassination, Kentucky Governor Combs said it would be called The John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge. I see your point though in thinking of Teddy's bridge misadventure six years later. I never thought about a bridge being named after a Kennedy until you brought it up.

And you can get a dozen of them for a dollar at most surplus stores.
Back in the 60s and 70s they included some P38s in cases of C-rations. Like the cans of food themselves and the 4 packs of cigarettes that were included, nothing is the same.
I remember in 1986 the DOD banned smoking inside a military facility. The older NCOs screamed bloody murder.

My only lament is we're not celebrating the primary defeat of John Kerry (who served in Vietnam). Kicking him out of politics would have been a joy.
Dick Lugar is 80 years old and a RINO. He should have retired gracefully instead of running for reelection. Too, 36 years in the Senate is more than enough for anyone. Sorry Dick, you're old and in the way.
