Judge bars evidence, for now, in George Zimmerman trial. Well hell, why doesn’t this so-called judge just declare Zimmerman guilty? Looks like the fix is in so why bother with a trial?

So if a person has two previous DUIs, multiple Public Intox and Drunk & Disorderlies, and a lifetime of alcohol involved domestic violence calls, a persecutor would never bring it up at their trial for running over a mother and her children in a mall parking lot after leaving the bar, because it has no bearing or relevance to the current case?
Exactly. Now you can skip law school and hang up a shingle.

The defense needs an aggressive strategy to try this case in the media, then.
Oh, um, well I... never mind.
From the article:
"Prosecutors argued that since Zimmerman and Martin didn’t know each other before the shooting, whether the teen had been involved in fights had no bearing on what happened that night."
Right- except that Zimmerman "may have been" (was) acting on Martin's conduct that night- which WOULD be relevant to the case and would counter the almost certain strategy of characterizing Martin as some angel little boy viciously executed by the lethal combination of racism and gun violence.
The relevant question should be what Trayvon Martin was doing when confronted by Zimmerman and in the absence of actual proof of his conduct the best source for determining what it likely was would be his past. The judge seems very much to be tailoring admissibility to the race baiting progressive political agenda. Unfortunately Zimmerman is going to lose big time here. As much as that- and perhaps more- will be the cause of justice in general where relevant facts can take a back seat to politics.
That's our legal system in a nutshell: whether Trayvon was constantly starting fights is ruled irrelevant to whether he started a fight! It's Bizzaro World stuff.
But the judge's ruling won't matter in the long run: as soon as the prosecutors start talking about Trayvon being this nice innocent young victim who just wanted some Skittles (which they will have to do to win) the defense will be able to present contrary evidence.
Strictly speaking, that IS correct, legally: whether or not he had been in a dozen fights before certainly sheds light on his character, but it really has no bearing on what may have happened that particular time.
Until the case turns to the possibility of whether he attacked Zimmerman, at which point the defense will be allowed to present their evidence. Yeah, sure, I know I'm not a lawyer but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night!
