Judge tosses charge against Muslim who allegedly attacked atheist for mocking Mohammed

• And just to clarify, this household is republican conservative, always has been and always will be. My christian friends respect me and I respect them. We love to sit and discuss our similarities and our differences due to our spiritual beliefs we always end up laughing together and learning something from each other. I love my little bible a favored aunt gave to me when I was younger and my husbands family bible is in a place of honor in our living room along with my native american flute which I play quite often for friends and family. I've read many books of religion and spirituality to and with our children in hope that they will find what calls to and calms their souls, so they will have a faith in higher powers into adult hood. So they understand the world, its varied people and life itself. When I tell people my spiritual beliefs sometimes I too am treated badly, I smile and say bless you because I hope that someday they will understand that we are all different and not react with violence. I have been attacked many times, beaten and hurt by some who think I am bad for not believing what they believe what they don't understand is that I do believe, I believe in goodness, honesty, kindness, love and understanding, isn't that what religion is supposed to be about, isn't that what God wants for us? I read things like this article and all I see is ignorance and narcissism it is saddening the world has not become better but worse for people like those in the article.

• I adhere to no organized religion; yet, I respect those who do because this is a free country and that is their right, their choice and what calms their souls. I listen, learn and use various dogma of many religions in my life. We teach our children 5 basic rules of life, don't cheat, lie, steal or hurt others with words or actions. Those are our "golden rules" in our home. My mother was catholic, my father of american indian descent and he followed the path of his ancestors which I too follow. Our kids attend church with their friends because I want them to experience the world and what is available to them, they will choose to be what they will regardless of my beliefs and that is what I want for them all. However, they know that we respect all ideas as long as they are kind, honest and good... we have found nothing good in Islam at all. And we have studied it, nothing is good if it can not grow and change for the better. Those people have never and will never change, they are obsolete and useless. God is available in many forms and fashions and yet it is the good in it all that matters.

• I think I'll write the "JUDGE" and ask if I can cut my wife's head off because she ate a BLT today.(just kidding) This judge needs to be removed from the bench and personally I don't care how he's removed. A flamethrower/ towtruck/ a meathook? Whatever it takes.

• Atheist vs. Muslim - it's like what commentators say during a game between two really crappy, bumbling sports teams: "It's a shame one of these teams has to win."

• So the "religion of peace" is excused from the laws and amendments of this nation. Take out the religious aspects for just a moment. A person was attacked and assaulted. The judge needs to be removed from the bench for this aspect alone.

  Now let us look at it from the religious aspect. Here is a person whom unwisely, decided to mock a person of faith. If they had mocked Jesus and then attacked by those holding the parade, the organizers would be held accountable for the suffering and be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

  So the judge feels that islamic laws supersede those of this nation. THEY DO NOT and we need to put a stop to this NOW.

• Just wait until these stupid liberal idiots end up having to deal with Shara Law, because they are too blinded by the push for multiculturalism.

• Actually, I see this as a surprisingly good thing! This, so called, atheist just got his ass handed to him of a platter. Being an atheist probably means he's also a libtard and he should be damn glad he didn't get his head handed to him as well! Now these ass-hats can start seeing the reality of their godless and suicidal multiculturalism up close and pretty. I love it when libtards get schooled.

  • We have atheists here on IHTM. They are as conservative as you and I. I believe the creators of the site are also (agnostics or whatever). Even though I have butt heads with a couple of them on the subject of religion from time to time, I do respect them and I hope, that they respect me as well.

    Now, I think I want to grant you that PERHAPS there are not as many conservative atheists as perhaps there are liberal atheists (this is a thought on my part, I've got no numbers to back it up), so you can probably assume that this atheist was a liberal. I would like to believe that a conservative atheist would have been careful and make damn sure that he wasn't outflanked and measured his words accordingly, many liberals lack tack and intelligence in that respect.

    With all of that said, I do also like to say liberal idiots being schooled regardless of their religious or non-religious beliefs, however all he did was insult I don't think he was being violent against the people there (first), so I think that being violent against him just due to an insult was over the top. However, again I agree that many atheists who decry Judeo-Christianity need to pay attention. I can totally see a world where a lot of (liberal) atheists are going to stand with Islam, thinking that it is a cure against the evil Christians of the world that are in the way of their plans of transforming the world in their liberal utopia. Muslims will use them and then crush them once their usefulness is done for. A true atheist will not convert to Islam, their ignorance in thinking that it is cure against Christianity's judgemental ways of good vs evil will be their downfall. Muslim will still find them infidel and kill them on the spot or imprison and enslave them or tax them heavily. They need to wake up.

  • As for the atheist, I agree he got what was coming to him. However, the attackers walked and where set free by a judge who feels that he is above the laws of this nation. The judges actions have placed the legal system on a very steep downward slope.

      • deepthinker, I totally agree with you and KQ, the judge's actions undermine the very underpinnings of our judicial traditions and history. This judge, whoever he is, should be disbarred and sent to Pakistan, where his judicial pronouncements will be appreciated.

• The judge did have one point. He's right. Its not just their religion, its their culture: which is why it is in dorect and unresolvable conflict with American Culture.

  • I can say that Christianity is a culture too, however even though I can and have dressed down (with words) a fool for hating on me and/or hating on Lord Jesus Christ, I would never hate on the fool nor murder the fool. Those actions are most definetly NOT part of the Christian culture (so to speak). I love Christ and I respect Him and I do want others to respect Him too, however He is All Powerful and He can protect His reputation if He so wishes at the time of the insult or beyond. For me to go all ape crazy on someone and start beheading them or whatever would be detrimental to my relationship with Him. I can make sure the fool knows what I think, but I am more than willing to care for the fool if the fool needs caring for. The fool can remain a fool all he or she wants, but Christ is concerned about how I don't loose out on my salvation regardless of the fools of this world. That is the Christian culture (as it were). However it seems that to be in a relationship with Allah it means that you got to be as violent and as disgusting as you can probably be. I say no thank you. I say no thank you to that "culture". You are right, that culture will always be in conflict with the basic tenets of the American culture, as even if it is not a Christian country (anymore?), the point is that it was based on Judeo-Christian tentes and that is undeniable. Those tenets and all the laws that ensued are in complete contrast with Islam.

    I do admire those so called moderate Muslims who see something "good" about Islam that is worth it to save and/or change but those people are in a terrible minority and still sadly those within that speak up are even more of a minority. If it continues that way, Islam cannot be redeemed.

• Someone needs to pay this "judge" a "visit" and "explain" that injustice will not be tolerated.

  How is our system even remotely just or legitimate? It has become a pathetic joke. What we are now experiencing makes the colonial conditions in 1776 look like a silly misunderstanding.

  But we have become a nation of complacent lemmings apparently.

  So Islam trumps atheism in the P.C. world of victimhood. Stupid atheists should stick to mocking Christians who have the bad habit of turning the other cheek and believing in the First Amendment. The judge obviously doesn't believe in the First Amendment, he should be reprimanded or removed.

  Advice to the dumbassed atheist who wore the zombie Mohammed costume: better buy a gun or hire a bodyguard, they know your name and address.
