  • I've been thinking about this. I didn't watch mutch the trial so I don't know if was brought up. Trayvon had a cell phone (obviously as he was on the phone). Throwing everything out that happened why didn't HE call 911 and tell them he had someone following him and get the police over? He had the means and the time. Might have had a different outcome.

  • The state did not prove their case, in fact all of their witnesses made the defenses case for them.

  • GZ isn't going to have a peaceful night's sleep for a LOOOOOOONG time . . .

How's things where everyone is? Just caught this. Spent the evening and early hours catching up with Doctor Who. Just heard something outside that might have been leftover Independence Day firecrackers, might have been gunshots. But the latter isn't terrribly unusual for where I am.

I still think that one phrase I heard over the last week or so, "nasty ass cracker" sounds like a gay thing, depends where the punctuation goes, I reckon...

        • If I am the 'she' you are referring to allow me to clear up the confusion, I live in the Atlanta burbs.

          • No, we're talking about CO2's daughter, but if you live in the Atlanta burbs, I was wondering if it's Snellville. I have a friend there, and she's a hostess at IHOP. You two would get along great.

          • If you mean Lori, yes. She's a Floridian who moved there to find work, but ended up at IHELL.
She's so conservative that she used to work for the RNC in her town in FL.

        • I was in Daytona working again, from Wed thru Sun. No issues with the verdict there, and there is quite a large AA presence there.

    • That's great CO2, however the mobs will need time to form. I'm sure early into the morning the crap will start. Just glad I live in the 'burbs' and not the At'l!

      • I don't know Blondie, have you ever seen the riots that happen when a team wins a basketball championship? Doesn't take any time to rouse the troops to riot.

  • Let's move on from this trial. Zimmerman is free to do whatever he likes. He is the only person alive that knows what really happened. If he didn't mean ill will he got his freedom as his reward and good for him. I am happy that he is free to do whatever he likes since that is the Will of G-d. I hope that he goes into private life and doesn't come out of it and that people can leave him be. Let Martin rest in peace and stop calling him names or demeaning him. His story wasn't set in stone, he could have grown out of the "thuggery". I myself was not a perfect older teen, not a thug not a pothead but certainly not perfect I grew out of it and many of you worst, the same or better than Martin have your own sh*t that you grew out of. Now he is dead, let him rest in peace. Hopefully his family will be able to move on and find their peace, they got what they wanted: justice and information as to why he died. They know why their son died: He instigated a fight after realizing he was being followed. Being followed is not nice. I have been followed for being a teen and for being a black person. People have followed me in stores and in neighborhoods as well. Security and civilians. It bring out a lot of anger because I know I wasn't there to do anything bad and didn't deserve the suspicion. Only certain people know what that feels and the anger that brings especially when you are young and know that you are not doing anything bad nor want to. I don't know maybe Martin was up to no good or maybe he was just taking his time to go home because he wanted privacy for his phone call (which I have done gone outside and walked and talked to someone on the phone away from the house so I could keep my call private). To the eye of a suspicious person especially someone that wants to be suspicious of others I am sure I would have looked like I was out for no good. Thankfully I didn't overreact to being followed and did something stupid that got me killed. I can only hope that there is a lesson here for people especially young Blacks. He escalated a situation that Zimmerman started (however it was not an illegal move on Zimmerman's part) and he (Martin) shouldn't have done that (escalated). He was young, he was stupid and rash and paid the price. It happens all around the world. Sadly he is not special and sadly many people don't learn their lesson that overreacting to the overreacting of someone else is not a good thing and can lead to a lot of problems and in this case death.

If Zimmerman was indeed malicious or had thoughts inside of his soul that only he knows and were bad, only other Person knows which is G-d, and therefore G-d will take care of it one day or another. If Zimmerman wasn't malicious in his pursuit of Martin and didn't plan to kill anyone, G-d obviously knows, gave him his freedom, and now he is free to do whatever he wants to do with his life. Good for him. I hope he makes it a good one for himself and his family.

This trial has woken the worst in a lot of people even Conservatives and I personally wanted this trial to be over and now it is, justice was served and now I hope that this site and other sites can move the hell on. This probably should have gone to trial anyway, but it should have never had this level of notoriety. I remember last year how I wondered why was it that the cops didn't want to tell the Mother what happened and that was all that she wanted to know why was her son dead. I personally blame the cops first for being so tight with information, not explaining the laws to her, essentially ignoring a Mother's request for information, not releasing the 911 call when requested, not at least asking a grand jury to look into the case and see if there is anything that needed to go to trial as per her request. The grand jury would have found there was nothing if there was no political pressure and this fiasco wouldn't have happened. Once the Mother went to the media and the racist hucksters got their hook into her this whole thing descended into the fiasco that it was.

The Eddie Money lady at least put make up on, she shouldn't have fired that guy and she should have been measured as well in her pursuit of Zimmerman. Okay let's thank the jury for their work. They followed the law, they did the right thing. The prosecution did not meet their case. Please lets move on from this. Let's not assume the worst in people either, let's not do what Zimmerman did that night (assume the worst) and let's not do what Martin did (escalate). Emotions run high, we need to be reasonable and let logic reign. I accept the verdict and I am sure that many will as well. The racist hucksters I hope they are quiet. There are no real winners here. Martin is dead and like I said he could have changed. Zimmerman will live knowing he killed someone and that can keep him feel all kinds of things that he probably doesn't want to feel.

I blame Obama and others like him who put their two cents in instead of just saying let the justice system work and no comment. I blame the media last. The media was ultimately disgusting on this issue. I hope that a shiny new thing happens and they move on.

      • You are O'Reilly now? If you don't want to read it, then don't. I never said that it would be short. Don't be an idiot.

        • It was a well thought out post from a different perspective and it reflects compassion for all sides of the ugliness. Thank you for taking the time.

Too many people are given to reacting from hearing just one side of an issue or incident... I struggle with that myself from time to time. The thing is that those who are supposed to lead know that fact well-- and behaved with a particularly depraved level of irresponsibility. They deserve to be taken to task but of course they won't.

          • Thanks. I understand the anger that lead to Martin's overreaction. I understand that Zimmerman took the protection of his neighborhood to heart. Zimmerman made a mistake and so did Martin and Martin paid the ultimate price and Zimmerman paid a price as well. Now it is over and good thing.

          • Well that is true of many people. I have made many mistakes and I am still paying the price. I am sure that many people have the same thought.

    • Nice post KQueen, but I'm still lmao @ "The Eddie Money lady".

OK, ok, I'll be quiet now and watch the news. ♫♪ I've got two tickets in my pocket now baby, let's disappear ♪♫

        • Zimmerman should move. He can go away and stay private. People have shiny object syndrome. If he does his part others will move on. Hopefully Martin's family will move on and leave him alone and not try to keep him there with civil suits. This is really annoying me. People lash out and say stupid things when they are emotional. Time is needed here and the media moving on to other shiny things. Zimmerman does his part, he should be fine.

          • The leftest media have been fixated on this one shiny object, there are others, and will not move on until it is accomplished - Gun Control. It is only part of the overall downfall of America.

          • Considering he won his case it will be very hard to get gun control out of this. They didn't get gun control out of other more important and more tragic events like Sandy Hook.

        • Worn by a courthouse protester -eh? I wonder how that measures up to the tweet that netted its twit federal charges?

      • He is free. He can move. He can change his name. He can change his face. If he stays private in his life the media and everyone else will move on. He can avoid cashing in from this. If he goes on reality TV or goes on to do celebrity stuff or writes a book he would deserve the target. It is up to him now.

        • KimmyQueen:"If he ... writes a book he would deserve the target."

I don't know, Kimmy. If people were gonna keep on suing me and give me a mountain of legal debt, I would be tempted to sign a book deal. If I thought I was being unjustly persecuted, I might look to go after those I think have besmirched my name. He has said he wants to have a family with his wife. That's hard to do in great debt.
The only way I would forego trying to make money was if a legal defense fund covered my bills.

          • Is he being sued? Did I miss that? Let's wait and see what Martin's family will do. Hopefully they will let it go.

I still say that he can just go into private life and not put himself out there for more interviews. If he does that ppl will move on. Ppl moved on from the Anthony lady it is her that keeps putting herself out there. I am opting to be positive. However if he does get sued and goes into civil suits and stuff he can ask his family and friends and supporters to help him also he CAN sue NBC and others who did INDEED besmirched his name (like Sharpton) he has cause to do so especially now.

          • "I still say that he can just go into private life and not put himself out there for more interviews. If he does that ppl will move on."

No, no matter what Zimmerman does, it will stop the frenzy being whipped up by the left. He became part of a political agenda, gun control. Never let a good crisis go to waste.

          • I think that you are giving the left way too much credit. They will move on from this like they have from other things. Once other more important issues come to the forefront he shall be forgotten. If he does his part to remain private this will eventually blow off. Other issues will come to the forefront. He just needs to hold on for a while longer and do his part to remain private.

          • I don't think enough people realize just how close the left is to destroying much of what our Founding Fathers established and the people of this country have thrived on. Our God given rights are constantly being bombarded and infringed upon. Zimmerman is just a part of the agenda, but because of the left pushing that part a man, thankfully found innocent, was almost railroaded to a lengthy prison sentence and racial division has been increased. The left cares nothing about innocence or racial harmony. The agenda comes first every single time.

        • All they have to do is be quiet and move on with their lives and not talk about the case regardless of the media pressure. I should think that their privacy should be protected by the system. I have hope that people will behave.

  • On the other hand, Zim is a fool.. No one, not any Neighborhood Watch or any militia guy or anyone, will EVER stop my kids and interrogate them as they walk around these neighborhoods. Never, or there will be war.

I don't care how rough/gangsta/punk my boys dress when they are teenagers.

    • Great point, glad to see you've recovered from that fender bender thing in Roswell. I have two girls, can't really put myself in the shoes of having a son, but I know how I'd react. Why I've had such mixed feelings about this whole case. A civil suit now? I can see that. The whole political ping-pong of the charges is what always got me.

      • I think, in a few months, Zimmerman becomes the aggressor and starts suing. I hope he owns NBC for that editing they did on his call to the police. The Martin family has made a small fortune off of this - at Zimmerman's expense. I'm sure he would probably like to forget about it all - but that's not the way life is.

        • Need to sue CNN for releasing his SSN, too. And Spike Lee for tweeting out his address. And Al Sharpton for his irresponsible race baiting and riot inciting.

          • Former Sanford, Fla. police chief Bill Lee, who was fired last year because he refused to arrest George Zimmerman, is probably lining up some good lawyers right now too.

      • Zimmerman would have never been charged if not for the political ping-pong of the charges. The usual liberal suspects made the first volley.

    • Since George Zimmerman did not stop and interrogate Trayvon Martin, your comment is a little misplaced.

      • Doesn't matter if Zim just followed him around and said nothing. They better not start that here. Not with mine.. I got a daughter too. I don't care what the "watch" thinks they are.

Don't get me wrong.. Trayvon was a fool, most likely made no effort to contain his anger, and thought he'd teach Zimmerman a lesson. Two fools, one had superior weaponry.. An old tale

        • In some areas neighborhood watch programs are appreciated. I understand your concern but if Travon had went on home, no confrontation would have happened. Travon double backed on Zimmerman and the thug mentality of Travon came out. I believe Zimmerman did what he had to do, especially if the testimony is true of Travon seeing and going after the gun.

        • Exactly. As I mentioned below in my post, I have been followed for being a teen and for being black (one or the other or both). Depending on the situation by security people and civilians. In stores and in neighborhoods. I have had police cars drive slowly and take a look at me while I walk and minding my own business. I have been profile for being a teen and for being black there is no doubt about it. There is still racism and latent racism in people (but maybe not all did it because they were racists per se). There are still people that believe the worst in others because of how they look like due to the stupidity and criminality of others that look like them (which is annoying) and not because of any concrete proof that the person is up to no good. There are a lot of irrational people out there. The truth being that I myself have had times profiled people, but because of my experiences I try to catch myself and not assume the worst and use my better judgement. I am not a thug, I don't look like one, I don't behave like one, possible with jeans and casual clothing I may have looked like one *shrugs*. I got angry whenever it happened, and it does anger me now (it hasn't happened in a while, but it does anger me when it happens to others that I know are good people and it happens to them) and it will continue to anger me, however thanks to G-d I did not overreact to the overreaction and the stupidity and the zeal of others. This is a lesson to many people. That was Martin's problem, he overreacted and thought that this time he would stand his ground against someone who was suspicious of him. He miscalculated, assumed and took the wrong risk. It just so happen that the person had a weapon and shot him. He paid the price for his rashness. Zimmerman also paid a price and he may in many ways may still be paying a price for his own rashness. He also did the exact same thing as Martin: he miscalculated, assumed and took the wrong risk. This was a lesson all around. People can still be suspicious but call the police and just let them do their job. If you are followed just go home and don't overreact. If you are ill treated then sue the hell of the person that mistreated you. It is what it is.

          • Right on, well said KQ. Zimmerman miscalculated just as badly as Martin did. Lest everyone forget here--even though getting off manslaughter-scale charges may have been the right thing for him by the law--Zimmerman brought ALL this on his own head.

He forced an encounter with another man on the street. He was on High $&#*( Alert. As men do in face-offs, this is quickly picked up by Martin on an instinctive level. Many don't even like being observed by cameras manned by bored bureaucrats. Imagine being followed, over and over.. (i'm sorry for every one of those bastards who scrutinized and threw evil eyes at you, KQ)

Zimmerman's an idiot not to consider this. Did he not anticipate eventual anger?

And seriously, what if Zimmerman's role were a bit different? What if he WAS a nameless agent of the federal government out doing civil recon on everyday people, and the encounter went down like this? There'd be calls for that spook's head.

Maybe the right thing happened here.. maybe it WAS ultimately self-defense. But Zimm got himself into that ass-whoopin all on his own account. If he's a victim, he's a dumbass fool of a victim

          • Thanks I appreciate that. You know it is part of life. Many people won't know what it feels like to be followed and to be mistrusted just because you look a certain way when YOU know deep inside that you are not in any way going to be doing anything wrong.

I UNDERSTAND the anger that Martin must have felt, because I have felt it. However I am not going to excuse the BEHAVIOR that stemmed from the anger. He could have very easily gone home and b*tch and moan about the creepy ass .... to his Mother. Maybe his Mother would know whom he was speaking of and go to him the next day or something and tell him "hey my son is not a thug" and whatever introduce her son to Zimmerman or something so in the future he knows that the kid is part of the neighborhood. There were so many ways to avoid this on BOTH their parts. It was a tragedy from the moment Zimmerman chose to patrol that night AND from the moment Martin chose to leave his house. It is just sad all around.

In many ways I have to say then that all thanks go to Jesus because I could have very easily be dead too if I had acted in anger like Martin and not be wise and tempered whenever I knew that someone was following me around looking to see what I was up to. This is also universal. Happened in my country of birth, happened here and happened in other countries. Anger is not a wise response to that, it just isn't. The truth of the matter Alien is that they are both guilty of Martin's death. It feels bad to say, but Martin had choices and he took the wrong one AND Zimmerman DEFINITELY had choices and he took the wrong one. LEGALLY speaking he is not guilty but in all truth here he is not innocent. Martin perhaps wasn't innocent either, it was just tragic that the both of them did not do what they could have done to avoid the tragedy and all the drama that ensued. In truth though I do believe that a lot of the responsibility does come from Zimmerman. After all he was armed and he was patrolling whereas there is no evidence that Martin's plan included robbery or something to that effect. He wasn't doing anything illegal by Zimmerman's admission. Zimmerman just thought that he could be up to no good and made the decision to initially follow. If he continued or not, the truth is that Martin's reaction to the initial follow escalated Zimmerman's already bad choice to follow in the first place.

          • Bullshit. Even after the trial the lies continue. You have no evidence whatsoever that Zimmerman forced an encounter. None. All testimony and evidence suggests the opposite. Which is pretty much why they found him not guilty.

I just wonder when the left (and in this case you are representing the left's viewpoint) will admit they were wrong about this incident.

          • Let's remember the situation here. There had been numerous break-ins by black teenagers in the neighborhood. One of them involved a young mother with a toddler who saw them coming, grabbed her toddler, and locked herself in the bedroom while she called the police. THEY TRIED TO GET INTO THE BEDROOM WHILE SHE WAS TALKING TO 911. That's scary stuff. I believe that particular woman was a black woman and she testified for the defense. The neighborhood was in crisis because of the break-ins and they overwhelmingly supported Zimmerman and his efforts to increase neighborhood safety. What's more, in spite of what Alien has said, there was no interrogation and there was no following after the police dispatcher told him to leave it to the police. Those claims are repeated ad nauseum by the Trayvon lawyers, probably to sway public opinion for a civil lawsuit.

          • i granted there was possibly no interrogation.. but no following, really? Are you saying that Zimmerman did not attempt to at least keep Martin in his view? Didn't he get out of his car, probably looking at Martin the whole time?

Seriously, who does that? He doesn't think people notice when a vehicle stops and someday gets out, obviously focused on them? I think he must have a sub-par IQ.

          • According to Zimmerman, he stopped following when the dispatcher suggested he stop following. All claims to the contrary are spurious bullshit efforts to cause racial strife by the Martin lawyers and the MSM. What's more, the location of Trayvon's death seems to verify that Zimmerman was telling the truth because Trayvon told his girlfriend he was by his father's house but his body ended up nowhere near his father's house... suggesting he turned and went after Zimmerman rather than vice versa. We'll never know exactly what happened, but I'm tired of people saying Zimmerman shouldn't have "stalked" Trayvon. There is no evidence that happened.

          • Wasn't the creepy ass cracker clearly following him, according to the phone call? Zimmerman was showing signs of heavy breathing after exertion?

I'll confess, i didn't watch the trial. I just remember hearing about the phone call, and I just learned about Martin's racial epithet recently. Was the phone call not admitted into evidence?

If what she's saying is true, that's all on Zimm.. behaving in a way that made Martin seem like he was being followed.. by Mr Creepy. Zimmerman chose to behave in such a way as to run out of breath by the time he was having an interaction with Martin.

Ehh whatever, maybe Zimmerman's the only guy telling the truth here. Maybe he's the kind of guy who needs to get out of his car to see a street sign (that's his reason, right?) I maintain he coulda stayed in that car and avoided all this

          • Did you ever think, Alien, that your kids are the ones that Zimmerman would have been trying to protect?

          • Didn't say there was. If its all the same, don't need anyone following my kids around either.

          • Of course you don't no one wants to be followed nor their kids followed. Especially if it is a girl/woman. This is a good lesson for them. If someone does follow them they must call 911 if they cannot get home quickly enough and not confront the person even if they are doing a good thing and patrolling your kids have to be safe too from the possibilities that the follower is not up to no good.

          • I do that every time a strange car or pedestrian comes on my block. It's called being observant and keeping an eye on people that don't belong there.

  • Me thinks it's time for Mr. Zimmerman to move to another part of the country. As for that race baiter Sharpton, if people do riot, he should be charged with inciting it.

  • Not worried about riots here in Texas. My 12 gauge and Glock are fully loaded.

If anyone deserves retribution tonight it is the prosecutors in this case. They and everyone on their staff deserves the worst that karma could ever deal them. FUCK THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
