  College Courses, Alas Not A Joke
  I received the message below from a friend who is a professor at a small college, which is about to be joined to a nearby university. The list of new subjects for possible new courses is truly impressive. If this had not come from someone I know, I would have thought it was made up by some conservative blogger as a joke. But it's real, and actually, it's not funny. As a symptom of where higher education has gone in this country, it's not funny at all, it's damn tragic. And scary. --Del. PS- in all honesty, I am not sure what some of these phrases actually mean.... ecofeminism? -- The names don't matter, Del. They all mean, "The Taxpayers need to be milked of more of the money they earned to pay to correct these perceived injustices." And, of course, to provide jobs for liberal professors teaching things that make them feel good, but provide no education needed in the economy. And to provide dollars to the universities through loans that the students will have to pay off flipping burgers--but who cares about the students? ~Bob

  • When it comes to politically correct indoctrination, there have actually been much progress since 1972. Every new batch of leftists is worse than the previous one.

  • Ecofeminism is when you drive to the strip club in a Prius for a vegetarian beer and tell every girl who gives you a lap dance that it doesn't matter what she looks like, you like her for her mind.

    (I'm like a walking dictionary, eh?)

• The wording suggests that their intent is to improve education while the ongoing process suggests anything but. The ever-increasing spending involves guilting voters to approve egregious school budgets which fund construction projects that invariably go to union help which drives up costs... then there's the teacher's union contracts that negotiate (at least in this area) very high priced salaries with benefits, including huge pensions... are they including the legacy costs being incurred as we now fund the lifestyles of retired teachers?

  As for those currently "working"- for our top dollar we are getting classes largely of brainwashed graduates in return- indoctrinated drones programmed to think that big government is the answer to any and all life's problems comes in the form of expanded government and more bureaucrats to micromanage our existence.

  For our tax dollars, we are buying the inability of future generations to think for themselves... so this is hardly surprising- except for anyone whose thought process has been compromised by "education".

  • I think it has more to do with what they AREN'T teaching. Things like history, the Constitution, and personal responsibility. When you are taught that you don't have to worry about anything because nanny government will take care of all your needs, then we are breeding a generation of lemmings.
