  • Dude married a black woman and had three kids. You'd think that would encourage him to abandon the whole race game but according to Wikipedia his whole political career is about abortion and race. I really don't get people like that.

  • Yeah, it's interesting, but as someone who hates dividing people into groups I can't stop myself from pointing out how stupid it is to have a group called "Asian-Americans." It's almost as stupid as having a group called African Americans. Neither designation makes a lick of sense. The African gene pool encompasses the world gene pool so the rest of us are basically sub-sets and, as for Asians, there are so doggone many of them and the continent is so doggone huge, trying to shove them all into one designated "race" is absurd. I don't know what kind of politics various Asian nationalities tend toward when they get here, but I'm guessing a Filipino doesn't see eye to eye with a Sikh, politically, nor a Vietnamese with a Mongol. You see what I'm sayin'?

      • How about a take off on the David Bowie song, Young Americans..we change the words for liberals to "Un-Americans"??

    • Know what you mean, it's "their" labels, the smart people. I basically call it Us and Them, the people we have to beat (regardless of color, creed, religion etc.) at the ballot box. But the shift kinda caught my eye.

      • I love the movement among younger Americans to ignore all the race questions on government forms. It started with mixed kids who just couldn't understand why they had to check one box - now it's spreading to my grandkids' whole generation. (With a little instigation and encouragement from Grandpa.) I love to fantasize about a future where the Census Bureau looks down and sees 99% of Americans have checked "Other" or "Unknown" for race.

        • Another reason for me to love "some" of the kids, warms my heart.

• There was never a war on women by the republicans. It has always been the dim wits who have conducted this war on women. Just listen to Tom Harkin and his comments about Joni Ernst.
