Krugman: Somehow, UPS-Fedex Christmas Snafus Make HealthCare.gov Seem Not So Bad: Excepting, of course, when UPS, Fedex fails us we can punish them by ending our voluntary relationship with them and not paying them for any service they do not provide. As opposed to Obamacare , where the SNAFU actually is situation normal and the entire system fails once it loses the power to compel us to pay for a service we cannot expect to receive.

They're desperately trying to take the focus off of the cACA and Katherine Sillybitch. They want you to forget that they failed to deliver on a promised website whereby you could sign up for AFFORDABLE healthcare, much less the healthcare you want. Remember, families were supposed to save $2500.00 on their annual premiums, meaning it would cost you $200.00 LESS a month, but everyone is finding it's costing more than $200.00 MORE. Not to mention that the stated capacity of the website never materialized, and there was no way that the people who wanted to sign up could be covered by the deadline, because even the promised capacity of the website would not allow for that many people to sign up.
SO....... They want to create a red herring to distract from their failures, and blaming private business for the weather, is the best way for them to go.
Yeah, y'know, compared to hurricane Sandy or the great depression, Obamacare looks pretty good

Isn't there another angle here? Fedex depends on USPS for a good chunk of their final deliveries (i.e. there are destinations they simply don't cover, hence the handoff). Blame that leg of it

What is the big deal with this UPS/FEDEX not making deliveries on time for Christmas. Let's see, this happened once, was due to weather and they're making good on their promise to deliver free of charge? Two strong, successful companies suffer a hiccup and the liberals won't back off. Smoke screen for obamacare is my guess.
On the bill of lading it's referred to as "An act of God" or Force Majeure..... a common clause in contracts that essentially frees both parties from liability or obligation when an extraordinary event or circumstance beyond the control of the parties, such as a war, strike, riot, crime, or an event described by the legal term act of God (such as hurricane, flooding, earthquake, volcanic eruption, etc.), prevents one or both parties from fulfilling their obligations under the contract. In practice, most force majeure clauses do not excuse a party's non-performance entirely, but only suspends it for the duration of the force majeure.[2][3]
Since neither UPS, FEDEX or the USPS can control the weather everyone needs to suck it up and quit whining.
I notice Krugtron the Invincible doesn't mention that the government run package delivery service - the Post Office - makes little attempt to compete with UPS/Fedex in rapid delivery. It would never occur to him to compare the new government health care financing system to the old private health care financing system, because then it would be impossible to convince actual people that the government system is doing a better job.
Like Obamadeathcare, the USPS is a shining example of why government should not be allowed to run anything close to a private business...Krugman worries about these two major companies, but like you said, totally overlooks all the FAILED government run programs...He is nothing more than a compensated propaganda mouthpiece for the whole rotten administration...in reality who cares what he says or thinks, I could round up a couple five year olds who would understand things better than Herr Krugman.
