L.A. can’t explain $7 million in fuel bills

L.A. – $7 million worth of taxpayer-funded city fuel “missing.” “The unexplained transactions occurred despite a $12-million fuel tracking system the city put in place more than a decade ago.” Well, they can’t blame the unicorns, they’re all solar-powered.

  • I dont want to use simple common sense with LA politicians and emplooyees as no matter how elementary, it will be over their heads. But, wouldn't a well placed camera at each filling location be a deterrent? But that is assuming there would be some consequences to the thieves. Because there obviously is not camera's in place tells me the politicians and upper management have their fingers in the cookie jar, er gas pump, and the underlings are also taking advantage of this "perk". How dare they, only the politicians and their ass kissers are allowed to steal the gas.

  • L.A. not being able to explain mismanagement is not surprising. That town is the Chicago of the west as far as I am concerned.

  • So they spent 12 million bucks to discover that they are missing 7 million bucks. This program will be touted as a huge success in liberal circles. 7,000,000-12,000,000= Eleventy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Victory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sounds like there's a MasterCard commercial in here somewhere. Like - Gas, $4.59 per gallon, Missing $7 million, LAPD stealing gas - priceless. MasterCard, for when you want to ripoff the city.

  • Chicago is going to be really jealous about this, unless it turns out that the Koch brothers stole the gasoline and resold it for an obscene profit(a phrase which Progressives consider a redundancy).

    • Did anyone check to see if city council has access?

This is a liberal democratic town isn't it?

By the way, Chicago isn't jealous. Chicago made sure they weren't caught.
