I am almost relieved to see this thread. I have been sitting around listening to the saga and thinking "Is it just me or are these the dumbest law enforcement folks around?" I mean, shooting civilians, getting a couple of their own shot and one critically injured, then the house burns down and they can't decide if it is Dorner or not (who ELSE would be there alone? Its not like he had a dozen hostages.) andhpw the hell did thy manage to lose him so many times? I appreciate that generally speaking cops work like dogs at a pretty much thankless job, but these bozos sound like Barney from Mayberry.

I won't bitch about the entire LAPD, but there's at least a couple of them need their guns taken away from them and put on a desk job.
Actually, I have nothing but respect for the LEO profession. Some of those that wear the uniform should not though. It is a SMALL minority, but , like ANY job, there are a few who should be doing something else.
LAPD former Chief Bill Parker once said "We'll always have problems (Bad Officers) for one reason, we have to hire from the human race"....
I have seem the get fired for dating hookers, stealing, lying, cheating, keeping seized drugs, the weak will always fall to temptations, and then there are some people that just don't belong in the business to start with, the do-gooders who are going to save the world with their liberal ideas.....after their first encounter with a real bad guy they usually transfer to Burger King and work the drive up window.
A few of them should be in prison along with the criminals they put there. The same could be said in all big city law enforcement agencies though, some people slip through the cracks and end up with a badge.

I don't think the shoot first, ask questions later LAPD are going to have their shooting spree stopped by a lousy t-shirt! if I lived there, I'd be wearing kevlar everywhere I went.
When they shot up a vehicle with ONLY A WOMAN AND HER DAUGHTER inside, I knew they were just freaking out and will shoot at anyone that looks like Dorner, ie: black and overweight.
The two women weren't even black. I think it's just a bunch of hysteria-driven cops waiting to get a shot off.
