I personally congratulate the owner for doing something for his community. As long as he is not hiring children nor advocating for children to come into his business, if he feels he can do something for the community that OTHERS in the community were not doing but are not doing, I dont see a problem with this.
Sorry... meant to say "OTHERS in the community were not doing, but should be doing"...
I want to add that I do not subscribe to strip clubs and things of that nature, however that is my own personal choice. However, like I said, the owner was being philantropic and I love philantropy and this should put the community to shame.
Right on, Kimmy.
It's not how long your bat is, it's what you do with it that counts.

(would they take it from Planned Parenthood?)
This is just plain stupid.
Take the damned money. Its for the kids!
If they had been smart about it, the gentlemen's club would have just paid the fees anonymously. Seems to me they may have wanted to create a controversy.
Could be that they were just trying to make a point.
The city may have been giving them a hard time about licensing, and they wanted to show that they do more than provide adult entertainment, they pay taxes and contribute to the community.
If I lived in the area, I'd march straight over to that club, and leave some money behind, just to show my support for the owner.
No, I wouldn't hand the money to the owner, but you know he ends up with most of it anyway.
Heard they were going to hold a bake sale to raise the money instead...would they take the money if the stripers were buying the cupcakes, cookies and brownies?
I think all the dads in the area should show their appreciation by taking the moms out for a night of fun at the strip club.
I can hear the strippers now....'is that a baseball bat in your pants or are you glad to see me?'

Next up: CPR classes for grade schoolers sponsored by Hooters!
Hey! I need to renew my certification!
"The traditional baseball fare of grilled hot dogs and hamburgers have also been banned at league games, the Los Angeles Times reported."
Ummm, probably because most of the hot dogs and hamburgers are now hold public office in California.
Oh great! The food nazi's have decided that it's up to them to decide what you can eat while watching your kids play ball!
No wonder the league is going bankrupt, I wouldn't be eating at the tofu stand, I'd bring my own food!
In fact, I would set up a "tailgating" area outside the game and sell hot dogs and burgers to the starving parents! Then if I were to donate the proceeds to the league, there is nothing that could be done to stop me!
The real problem here is that Little Leagues are mostly self supporting, and the way they pay for field rentals and umpires is by operating the snack bars. Burgers and dogs are top sellers. Take that away, and you are in deep trouble.
