Someone should Blindfold LaHood, put him in the middle of a construction project, and then let ten union construction workers drive around the same area blindfolded on pavement grinding machines...it would be interesting, and possibly a "pay-per-view" event for HBO.

I don't have that much of a problem with construction projects that actually needed to be done, and I'm also not sure how those figures break down -- if that's raw per capita and doesn't cover costs of equipment and supplies it's just dishonest.
The question is, were these make-work busybody programs to placate union demands and done for political reasons rather than out of legitimate need?
The whole stimulus is a "make-work-for-union-democrat-voters" program. So I expect that any money being used by these Obama cronies was for political purposes first, aggrandizement of Obama second, and maybe actual need a distant third.

Yes. Ray(High Speed) LaHood, you will remember, was BO's first Cabinet appointment; previously he was an Illinois Republican Congressman who was an integral part of the Illinois political Combine, and as such, was supremely well qualified to oversee the dispensation of taxpayer money to well connected contractors.
