Laugh out loud hilarious: Driving in Russia. Mrs Editor and I have recently been discussing our wild-assed fantasy about taking the Trans-Siberian Express from Moscow to Beijing. Based on this video, the train has to be safer than the streets. It’s 5:30 a.m. and I’m posting this story from Starbucks and all the other patrons are giving me strange looks because I’m laughing out loud as I watch this video. Do yourself a favor: Don’t watch it in public or people will give you strange looks, too.

Understood. But I live so far out in the sticks that I'm stuck with slow satellite internet. I go to Starbucks just to use their internet access when I have to send or receive large files. But I buy my coffee (tea, actually) at local coffee shops.

I've seen things like that just driving down Rt. 128.
RT 128? Out of Boston? I was gonna say that except for the helicopter, a lot of this could be Massachusetts. My wife says summer hasn't officially begun for her until she sees the first tourist going the wrong way away around the Bourne Rotary (the Gateway to Cape Cod, for you gentiles.)
But what I really wanted to know, Why do so many of these cars have dash-mounted cameras? They're way to steady and clear for phone cams! Surely these aren't all cop cars we're seeing from?
The Administrator and I were wondering the same thing today. His theory is that the drivers install them to prove who caused the accident. I thought maybe these were all dash-mounted police cameras, but that means the police are horrible drivers, too, because many of the accidents in this video were caused by the cars with the cameras. Any other theories?
My guess would be a combination of 2 options,
Cop cars with dash cams, plus sifi's post, "Wonder how many were caused by vodka."

I've been thinking about doing a dash cam and one for the rear for backing up if nothing else. Better than running over a kid.

I was somewhat amazed at the flying parts that seem to come out of no where - parts flying off cars? Reminds me of some of the early races in NASCAR. ;)
Funny how "OH SH!T" sounds pretty much the same in any language.
My faves:
Horse in crosswalk, car covered in hay, Guy in crosswalk kicking a car, guy driving front end loader tearing up cars, guy trying to outrun trolley, Van with no rear wheel driving on road, two guys got out of their car and just walked away, guy passing a truck and sideswiping a cop car, dump truck with no front wheel!, guy walking up to stopped car and falling on the hood to make it look like he was hit.
I also notice that there seems to be alot of problems with trees and trucks.
Getting there is half the fun. Wonder how many were caused by sexual activity while driving.
