Maher has surprised me lately. I don't think a conservative interviewer would have went at Levin much differently. Maher's personal life and history are behind his venomous hatred of Christianity, but he seems to be gaining a modicum of common sense about Islam. I bet Levin and the liberals would be outraged to learn that after the bombings, authorities virtually instantaneously started pulling the records of local Boston 20ish Muslim men. I doubt they ever got around to looking at any young white Boston men with Irish last names.

Meanwhile there's no hope for Brian Levin of the Center for the "Study of Hate and Extremism" he sounds like a paid apologist for Islamic violence.

Sounds like Bill missed his pre-show Koolaid shots. I can't recall hearing anyone as far left as Bill is, come out and slam islam like that. I gotta give the DNoz a thumbs up for this.
Bob Beckle also came out with some interesting comments about Muslim students. He has been all but completely ignored about it. Chances are that anyone who may possibly have heard about this would just default to "he's been corrupted by the other 4 on his show". But it's interesting.

I think we really have to consider, given the fact that so many hate us, that we're going to have to cut off Muslim students from coming to this country for some period of time so that we can at least absorb what we've got, look at what we've got and decide whether some of the people here should be sent back home or sent to prison."
Now, the only place I could find this was on Huffpost (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/23/bob-beckel-muslim-students_n_3138169.html) with some really dirty-looking girl sneering and giving her comments about this.
By the way: Note that the "transcript" was cut to remove these two lines "the hatred for the United states runs deep' and "given the fact that so many hate us" which I added back in above. I wonder why Huffpost would choose those two lines to remove? Hmmmmmmm.
The report goes on to suggest that some Fox conservative, including Dana Perino disagreed with him. I hope that's not true. Because FINALLY that crotchety old grump said something that I agree with!
He said he got A LOT of hate from Liberals online and otherwise. However he stood by it. He explained it further on the show and then went on O'Reilly and spoke about it there as well.
Well if I remember correctly she stated that not all are like that (which is the truth and Bob agreed) and basically we can't deport all of them (which is also the truth and Bob agreed). His point is to cut off NEW people from coming in and deal with those that are here now and those that are not doing what they are supposed to do like the Saudi that was caught last week they should be deported and she agreed with that.
He's always talked about Islam being a warlike faith.. this is layered on top of his general scorn for faith.. He used to agree with Christopher Hitchens on this a lot (my viewing has been sporadic over the years, with gaps, but I remember it)
Yeah I have to give it to Maher for not being afraid to slay that particular holy cow (if I may borrow that from something else all together). I remember him saying something along the same lines to (I think it was) Keith Ellison some time back.

he is a goofy little dude, and i'm sure he's been spurned by a huge number of women in his past, so now he feels he's getting his vengeance. It is totally reprehensible, how he refers to women he opposes ideologically, and i bet he exchanges a lot of money for sex, so respect isn't huge on his list. Piteable.
Yes a great number of his girlfriends are Playboy or other porn "models" and porn "actresses" and so on and so forth. With that said, I understand he dated Ann Coulter for a long time and according to her own words he has always been respectful with her *shrugs*. I personally find that weird.

Sometimes all that a man needs to shape up is a conservative woman with a firm yet loving and sexy attitude.
He and Hitchens were certainly on the same page where organized religion was concerned but they parted ways on the Iraq War. Hitchens was a thoughtful man who considered issues on their own merits. Maher doesn't in most cases. He is an ideologue and sadly probably does not even realize it.
True, true. He has been very vocal and against Islam specifically for this issue, however, it has not been normal for him to call a spade a spade and be truthful that there is no moral equivalency here. Although I cannot necessarily say that he has made the argument of equivalency in the past I do know that he hasn't necessarily defended Christianity as not equivalent to Islam and made sure to include that it is a bias or a lie coming from the Left.

1. A tenured liberal
2. Three laptops
3. Two iPads
4. An iPhone
5. Unlimited Everything package from Verizon
6. FAX machine
7. An 8x10 cinder block room with no window for an office
8. One evening meeting per month with the four students who signed up saying they're interested in this topic
9. Twelve follow-up meetings per month between the Center director and one student he's particularly interested in.
10. Monday morning press releases to LA Times, SF Chronicle, NY Times, WaPo and Salon.com
11. An underpaid secretary from the steno pool for Mr. Misogynist prof to mistreat... then apologize to daily
12. Thursday briefing and talking points e-blast from Southern Poverty Law Center
13. Friday email, phone and/or television interviews
14. And a $350,000 grant.
Maher knows that he is SAFER at the hands of Christians (real) who will do nothing to him when he talks his venom, than he would be at the hands of Muslims who at the very least will threatening him and at worst decapitate him.
My guess is Maher sees islam like he sees all religion, as BS. But I think he does feel no danger with Christians or Jews, & probably not too much with muslims, at least in America. But unlike most lefties who despise the religious, he is consistant with islam. Others give it a pass like Rosie O'Fatty did on "The View", but I'll give Maher credit for at least being consistant on his view of religion by including islam.
