Malcolm in the middle. State Sen. Malcolm Smith, top contender to replace Nanny Bloomberg, was arrested this morning by the FBI for allegedly trying to bribe his way to a shot at mayor of New York City. At a news conference, federal prosecutors showed a chart of GOP co-conspirators surrounding Smith, a Democrat, whereupon U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara uttered the immortal words:
“And you have Malcolm in the middle.”
A prosecutor with a sense of humor. Who knew it was possible?

Smith made the mistake of sneaking out of the planation by joining a group of somewhat sane Democrats in the state Senate. They have kept New York from becoming California East. I don't know if these charges are true but the cdertainly are convenient for the Democrats. Smith is a good guy and now he is gone - New York is worse off for his fall.
So, what does Mayor Nannyberg have to say about this? Has he proposed warning labels for politicians, such as 'ATTENTION! This officeholder/seeker may be hazardous to your moral health; believe at your peril.'
Hopefully, New Yorkers will awaken and give fellows like Malcom their middle fingers.
Corruption in politics. Yawn. Meanwhile, the sun will make another appearance tomorrow. The only surprising thing about this is that someone actually has taken some action. Albeit an utter waste of time. Who is going to convict them? Holder....bwahahaha. Who is going to stop the presidential pardon? Congress.....bwahahaha. If anyone was on the job, 95% of congress would already be in jail.

As a lifelong New Jerseyan, I take offense to this! I demand immediate action! I will not stand idly by while New Yorkers are arrested for corruption!
