You know damn well if some marine shoots one of those assholes, even in defense of his life or to defend someone else's life, his ass is going to be grass. What with the spineless wimps and Perfumed Princes (credit to Col. David Hackworth) in the military leadership and the suckass-media, that poor marine's life will be hell.
Even that would likely be better than dead.

And today more rioting and attempts to attack Embassies from US and Germany inTunis and the Sudan. Some Sheik called for everyone to "defend their GOD" during AM prayers and they all obediently went out and rioted. The Marines are famous for "fightnig our country;s battles" form Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli." So why aren't they being allowed to do their jobs?
When I was in the PI and armed, you damn well bet the arms were loaded. Granted, the first three rounds that would be fired were personally owned (less paperwork and fewer questions that way) but nevertheless, there were live rounds in the mags. I cant imagine being in some shithole like Cairo or Libya with empty weapons. Are these people completely nuts???
Well, Bama has zero experience in the military either (like so MUCH of his responsibilities as President) and he clearly doesn't place much respect on the Diplomatic corps ( ok, I get that) or the marines that are sent to guard them. Nuts.

Missile Command
Until you placed the link here I'd not seen it. I've just been around dumb ass limped wrist dim wits for a significant portion of my career. I find it shocking when I have to answer questions of why didn't you try the personal skills training you received during your time in the academy while someone is either attempting to resist or has taken an aggressive stance or worse has produced a weapon. At this point I've been fortunate enough not to have had to use deadly and or lethal force. My other training has been sufficient enough.
A FTO once told me he heard the best response once while waiting to testify in a trial. The liberal prosecutor (yes they are out there) asked a witness why he shot and killed his attacker. Without hesitation the guy leaned forward and stated " I'd rather be here where I'm at today then where he's at today." seems the one who was dead had started the situation and produced a gun 1st. The defendant was found not guilty by justifiable homicide.
Many of the State Department bigwigs were Peace Corps hippies when they were young. Ambassador Stevens was - and then he graduated from Berkeley.. 'nuff said - right?
The point is that these lifers in the State Department are touchy-feely unicorns and rainbows types. Even living in a war zone doesn't cause reality to set in. Guns are BAD BAD BAD, and one of those Marines might accidentally shoot himself or something. And besides, all we REALLY need to do is lock hands and sing Koom-By-Ah together and we will have world peace.

So how many people here make sure they have their extra mag on them before they leave the house? Lol. I personally don't carry, but I know people who do and they always have an extra magazine or 2.
If these Marines can't carry ammo and defend themselves or protect the embassy, bring them home. We don't need any more dead Marines or any other branch of the military.
Joe not only do I have my extra mag, I also carry a nice backup as well. A Mossburg 12ga with a pistol grip. 1st round down range is a slug, followed by buck shot then alternated.
