There is nothing wrong and there needs to be people who own these mom and pop store look like the people who live there. There needs to be a push to have more blacks be given the same loan breaks as given to these that come from out the country> that which you are just reading about Mr berry is being said all over the black community. Why does there need to be a push? The blacks are free to open a store and get a loan guaranty from the Small Business Administration just like anyone else is.

President Bush didn't get arrested with a large amount of cocaine and hookers when he was Mayor, Governor, or President. He used cocaine when he was in college. While that isn't an excuse, he at least wised up before he was in office.

The discrimination against Asians in this country goes unnoticed in the MSM because Asians aren't whiny little babies that scream, protest, and riot when they don't like something. The race hustlers, (Jackson, Sharpton, et-al) make so much noise that you can't hear anything else, with the exception of the recent upheval over Hispanics crying about the possibility that illegal immigration laws may be enforced.
All the Asians I have ever met, went to school with, worked with, or whose stores I have patronized, want nothing more than to educate themselves, and make a living. Even the travesty of the internment camps during WWII, was never enough of a setback to have the people affected cause the kind of outcry that you hear from the aforementioned race hustlers. Yet those very race hustlers, who you would expect to be sympathetic to the suffering of others, are the first to heap more misery on others. This unbelievable schmuck Marion Barry, is a perfect example of their "Gimme everything and screw everyone else" mentality. In this case, seeing successful businesses run by Asians in his neighborhoods, makes him mad because none of "his" people living there have a successful business, but he fails to realize that the welfare mentality he has helped foster makes it unlikely that any of "his" people will step up and put forth the effort to open a business.
You are correct. Though I will give Asian Americans the kudos that you rarely see them whining about wanting the government and the public to GIVE them anything more than a chance. They then TAKE that chance and run with it! I don't see Asians at the welfare office, paying for food with foodstamps, etc. I DO see them (generally speaking) working their tails off whether in school or in a job to make a better life for themselves!
Asian culture emphasizes family and to make sure resources are left for the future generations. Hard work is essential to make that happen.

Asians are opening stores in Washington, D.C. because the other citizens living in the city have failed to do so. It's supply and demand, there is a demand for the stores and the products they sell and Asian immigrants are responding to that demand. They're opening stores in high crime, low income areas, working long hours at some personal risk. Their reward? Racist threats from a imbecilic, drug addled politician.
If there's a filure here it's the failure of African-Americans to open their own businesses and their idiotic choice of Marion Barry to represent them.
