Marvel Comics announces new Muslim superheroine

Marvel Comics announces new Muslim superheroine. Hopefully she won’t be asked to use her superpowers in Saudi Arabia because she isn’t wearing a burqa. And they don’t let women drive cars.

  • Is this supposed to be a joke?!? She is waaaaaaay too White and she obviously have cisgender and thin privilege too!

How many Marvel heroes are drug-addicts or lives on welfare anyway? That´s right, not many! A clear case ofd discrimination by omission and disrespect of state authority, IRS is still soon going to check their Privilege. -)

    • Nah, no one in the government wikll touch them for fear of a Jihad on them. Plus it would be awkward witrh Obama's desire to segotiate peaceable with them

  • I have some obvious problems with this cartoon character: 1) She's way too flashy for your average Muslim male's tastes and I don't think the Muslim morality police in Saudi Arabia will give her a pass either; 2) too much exposed flesh; 3) too much exposed hair, you can tell right off that she's a she and she's supposed to look like a black draped penis; 4) the left hand is for hygiene and what's with the 'ham' fist? 5) that little mask over her eyes won't fool and Muslim males, they'll be able to tell she's not their mother, or their sister; 6) when they execute her for violating over 15 sharia taboos, they'll hang her with that great big, long, red scarf around her neck and flowing down her arms. Watch for an uptick in the number of honor killings taking place in American Muslim households!

For your edification and general knowledge, here are the names for some of the traditional Arab female apparel:

    Aba
عباء - ʽabăʼ pl. اعبٸة - aʽbiʼa or عباءة - ʽabăʼa pl. عباٸيات - ʽabăʼa·iăt aba, cloak-like woolen wrap (occasionally striped). This word stems from the verb عبأ - ʽabaʼa and with negation it means; not to care about, not to give a hoot for, pay no attention to, attach no importance to, unimportant, insignificant; and without negation it means; to fill, package something in bags, sacks or boxes; to load goods for transport. This item is worn over other 'indoor' clothing and as it's made from wool, I'm sure it's really cool in the Summer. Guess women are really held in high regard...why don't you liberal idiots (i.e. Oblivious) go there and scope things out for the rest of your feminist troll buddies?

    Hijab
حجب ḥijab pl. احجبة aḥjiba, حجب ḥujub cover, wrap, drape; curtain; woman's veil; screen, partition, folding screen; barrier, bar, diaphragm. This word derives from the verb حجب ḥajaba/ḥajibu (ḥajb) to veil, cover, screen, shelter, seclude something from someone or something else; to hide, obscure something from something else, e.g., from sight; to prevent the viewing of something; to hide from sight, keep in seclusion a woman; to eclipse, outshine, overshadow someone; to make imperceptible, invisible something to someone; to conceal something from someone; to make or form a separation between something and something, or something and someone. This piece of clothing is worn over a woman's 'indoor' apparel, can you say 'hotter than hell?' (Are you getting this 'something from something,' or 'something from someone' else's stuff, you liberal chicks?) For all of you progressive feminist useful tools out there (i.e., Oblivious), who do you think 'something' refers to?

    Niqab
نقاب - niqǎb pl. انقبة - anqiba, نقب - nuqub veil. The measure V form تنقب - tanaʽqaba of the root verb نقب - naqaba/naqibu (naqb) for this word means to examine, study, investigate something, look for, search for; to veil her face (woman: as if the third person singular personal pronoun didn't already give you a hint); to be perforated, be full of holes and the measure VIII form انتقب - antaʽqaba of the root verb (see above) means to put on a veil, veil one's face. No (Muslim Arab) man wants to see your stupid, vapid smile missy; I'm sure they'll think your head is full of holes anyway. If you're a toxic liberal progressive feminist, we think your head is full of holes too!

    Khimar
خمار - ḵimar pl. اخمرة - aḵmira, خمر - ḵumur veil covering the head and face of a woman. This word comes from the root verb خمر - ḵamara/ḵamiru (ḵamr) to cover, hide, conceal...nothing in the meaning regarding whether a woman owns her own body or not...I kind of think not! How useful you 'usedfool' idiot feminists are!

    Burqu'
برقع - burquʽ pl. براقع - barăqiʽ² veil (worn by women; long, leaving the eyes exposed). This word stems from the root verb برقع - barqaʽa to veil, drape (someone or something). The word burqa' is a foreign pronunciation, (probably Urdu, Pushtu, Paki, or Afghani). It's primarily a body sock, but oh how "dem womens dey be stylin'n'profilin,'" while they bump and stumble themselves to the store! This is the height of practical outdoor wear and apparel, if you're a beast of burden, or just a hapless 'lass' lost in Afghanistan somewhere.

  • I don't think it's a good idea to have a comic book superhero in the the form of a female muslim not covered in proper Islamic attire. After the Danish cartoon riots, I would not bother with trying to tell a story like this. Not worth the trouble.

    • Not worth the trouble. Exactly.

Muslims have proven over and over again that they're too volatile to deal with, and you'll never please them with anything short of absolute surrender.

So I double your "why bother?"

      • They usually go ape crazy over Momo being dissed... However if she ends up living like westerner or something and not giving Momo great amounts of respect or she doesn't stop to pray while in the middle of saving someone... perhaps that would be a problem.

  • Will she be fighting Christian White Extremest terrorist along side her Al-Qaeda brothers?

  • Did I miss the part where we were made aware of the religious affiliations of the other super heroes? Meh, this is nothing more than marketing to reach an untapped audience. That huge left hand is troubling though, wonder how she wipes her backside with that thing? ;)

    • There is a muslim guy writing a whole series of comics with Muslim superheroes. A lot lil\ke them, and they are selling well, but alot of the Imams are NOT ipressed. I wonder if this character is one of his?

    • Of course,ys, to counterbalance all those oviously Christian superheroes.
(Although I've heard that Superman is arguably Jewish. All those " -El" names in his heritage.)

      • I am sure you know this, this is for anyone interested.

The creators of Superman were Jewish and Superman was essentially based on the Promised Messiah (He -The Messiah- comes from outside the Earth INTO the Earth with a mandate to save it and save people from His Father who is available to Superman for advice and help and resides in the crystal palace away from humans, but somehow happens to know all there is to know about the Planet and the humans within), Moses (Superman traveled the cosmos inside a crib created by his parents to save him from being killed alongside his people, he was adopted by salt of the earth people who teaches him the ways of humanity and responsibility and hard work, etc.) and Samson (obvious).

It is fascinating... obviously many Christians see Christ represented there.

However not sure we can say that Superman per se is Christian nor "Jewish" as I have never heard of him "going to church" or having a belie system that was religious in nature, ALTHOUGH he DID meet "GOD" as in the ultimate Being in one comic book storyline that I know of.

  • Under the mask she looks like Barbra Streisand.
Also, I wonder what her response time will be in a crisis, given that she can't go outside without being accompanied by a male relative.
