Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) calls her constituents racists. “Let me be very, very honest with you,” said incumbent Landrieu, who trails in the polls by seven percentage points, “the South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Americans.” Later, perhaps remembering she’s not black after all, she called Southerners sexist, too: “It has not always been a good place for women, to be able to present ourselves. It’s more of a conservative place.” So who does that leave un-insulted, to vote for her? Black women?

The problem is that you sat on your fa-toss and did nothing to help your state's recovery from the economic devastation called Katrina.
AND, she helped exacerbate it by voting for everything Obama sent her way.

It's possible she considers the campaign lost and is just venting at this point. Making excuses. According to the polls, she is being rejected big time by the voters - very unusual for an incumbent senator.
I think they honestly believe what they spew to some degree. Early last week, Wendy Davis came out with a hail Mary pass informing Texas voters that Abbott is against mixed race marriages. True to form and republican predictability, Abbott's campaign immediately responded by letting anyone who would listen know that his wife is Hispanic.
Why would they make such a blatantly false statement? Because they believed it would stop a bunch of redneck knuckle dragging Bubbas from going out to vote for Abbott because he is married to a lowly Messican gal.
Chubby white girl throwing the race card. Nice to see there someone that can slither under Wendy Davis.
Wendy Davis doesn't leave much room, though.
And Landrieu looks a little chubby for the limbo.

Nice..a couple days for the election call your constituents racist and sexist. Perhaps today she can say they are all dumb ass crackers. Then after you loose the election you'll have all kinds of excuses for the loss. Just amazing that Ms. Empty lot ever got to the senate at all.
Is she confessing to getting elected on egregious vote fraud the first time around, or did her previous campaign court the racist sexist homophobe demo?
Did she realize she was on TV? That her words would be seen by the very people who she accused as racist would be voting for or against her? These people are like the one Ensign I knew. English was NOT his first language. You could barely understand him on a good day, but if he got upset, he got harder to understand. As you couldn't understand him, he became even more upset making it even harder to understand. These guys, the more upset and desperate and harder to understand.
Like phone tech support. They hire people you can't understand, and when you keep asking them to repeat themselves, they get pissed.
Well, maybe I ask them to repeat themselves a bit more than necessary, but WTH, let them earn their money.
