Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) calls her constituents racists. “Let me be very, very honest with you,” said incumbent Landrieu, who trails in the polls by seven percentage points, “the South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Americans.” Later, perhaps remembering she’s not black after all, she called Southerners sexist, too: “It has not always been a good place for women, to be able to present ourselves. It’s more of a conservative place.” So who does that leave un-insulted, to vote for her? Black women?
