Sarah Palin documentarian John Ziegler stopped by the Today Show last week just long enough to figuratively whack Matt Lauer up the side of the head.
In the mental equivalent of a wrestling “Death Match,” Ziegler pinned the host to the mat in record time. Lauer was forced to admit that the portrait the media had painted of the Alaska governor as an “idiot” was “a lie.”
“I don’t think that everybody in the media ran out saying, ‘Sarah Palin is an idiot,’” Lauer protested. ”Nevertheless, Ziegler eventually wheedled a confession out of Lauer and promote his new film ‘Media Malpractice.'”
“Wait a minute,” Ziegler answered, “I urge people and I urge you, Matt, because you’ve been up to Wasilla. You know Sarah Palin. You know that this is a lie that she’s some sort of an idiot or a moron.”
Lauer resisted, but eventually submitted and admitted that the portrait the media painted of Palin didn’t exactly match reality.
Now we want to see Ziegler take the same approach and grill Lauer about news nymphet and former Today Show host Katie Couric.
We suspect he would be much quicker to agree that she’s an idiot.

I started this petition in order to express my angst and disapproval at the underhanded way in which Ann Curry was sent packing from her job at The Today Show - a job that she has held faithfully for the past 14 years.
Little did I know, that so many others shared my feelings. My Petition has generated over one million signatures so, it would behoove NBC and Matt Lauer to pay attention to their viewer’s growing dissatisfaction with the dismissal of such a well-loved morning co-host.
Olympics or not, we, the viewers are prepared to use our finances and our ratings to show Ann Curry that we've got her back!

You've apparently mistaken us for people who like Ann Curry. Even as a fellow Oregon Duck, I have to say that Curry is the worst. We've repeatedly made fun of her odd hunching over interviewing style and her remarkably deep "serious" voice. We doubt that you will find many IHTM readers willing to sign your petition.
But we wish you the best of luck in your attempt to tilt at windmills.

Matt Lauer is in love with money and is letting right wing power dictate his point of view about the government. Whatever happened to objective media? With the right wing slowly taking over the media, it is getting difficult to find only the facts that are really important. I don't care about Tigar Woods' personal life. I care about my family's health care. I am disgusted with the Today Show and Matt Lauer.
Watched the Matt Lauer, Ziegler interview....as a former NBC News employee and media watcher....in my view...John Ziegler is right on....it's easier for personalities like Lauer, Brokaw, Curic to "make happy" with Dems because they are all on the same page. Lightweights like Olbermann, Matthews, Ron Reagan, Maddow, and even Letterman, are perfect targets for Ziegler type commentators. You have to get your point across in less than 3 minutes or you get fillibustered by their liberal jibberish!
