    • That he is. Yet when he showed up at Marshall University to watch practice he had to shed that burnt orange and put on the Green & White of the Thundering Herd.

      • Yes, deepthinker, the movie "We Are Marshall" is excellent.

"NOW AS FOR YOU MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY, YOU AND MEL GIBSON WILL NEVER WORK IN THIS TOWN AGAIN!"

McConaughey told a funny story about his late father on Conan O'Brien's show a few years back. McConaughey's father played for the Packers years back. He was a buzz cut man. McConaughey played high school football but kept his hair long for the drama club. McConaughey said that during his teenage years, he always had a "smart" answer for anything his father said to him. One day McConaughey was riding to football practice with his Dad in his Dad's truck. As they were driving, McConaughey's father started looking over at him. McConaughey said he thought, "He's gonna say something about my hair." Sure enough, McConaughey's father said, "When are you gonna get that hair cut? I mean, my goodness." Matthew McConaughey responded, "Jesus Christ had long hair." With that McConaughey's father pulled the truck over to the side of the road and said, "Get out." Matthew McConaughey protested: "We're still a mile from the practice field." After McConaughey had gotten out, his Dad reached over to pull the door shut. Just before he shut the door he said to his son: "Jesus Christ walked everywhere too."

  • Good for him, I stopped watching the Oscars so long ago. Its good to see one of the stars in looney land standing up for their beliefs.

  • PC means nothing to Matthew. He stood definitely and makes no apology to the atheists. I'll bet God the Father smiled as Matthew praised Him and his father rejoiced.

  • The audience was going to boo until the teleprompters flashed "He means Obama."

    • The applause he received after saying that was quite anti-climactic. There was a definite feeling of apathy among the audience.
