Mayor Bloomberg has a message for America

Mayor Bloomberg has a message for America. Referring to gay marriage before joining Saturday’s gay pride parade, the mayor said, “The government should get out of your personal life.” Apparently he doesn’t have an irony bone in his body, because today he’s back at work outlawing large sodas and big servings of popcorn.

      Really add to the story!
Too bad he and his technicians are too stupid to realize that running an A/C on that long of an extension cord will overheat the cord, possibly causing a fire, draw as much as 2x the amount of electric that being plugged into the wall does, and can burn out the compressor.
Once you exceed 50' the wiring needs to be increased by 1 size in order to efficiently carry the electric. That means that an A/C unit that needs to be on a 20 amp breaker and 12 gauge wire, after 50' needs to be on 10 gauge wire to not blow the breaker, after 100 feet it needs 8 gauge wire.

      • The rest of us, the peons, have been climbing into hot cars on hot days for many decades. Then we run the windows down to let the overheated air out while the AC gets going. It's never been terribly pleasant, but I guess for an idiot like The Nanny, it's something that MUST be addressed.

    • New York is ahead of Kalifornia in the nanny department..we don't have a soda/popcorn/gun/hamburger/transfat/salt Czar yet, altho I am sure that Clown Jerry Brown is looking for one, Maybe Debbie Washerhands Much when she gets fired as head if the DNC.

      • I'll be doing some smuggling of contraband into Bakersfield if those items get outlawed.

        • You know If I retire, I might just start smuggling salt, transfat, popcorn and extra large 64 ounce soda's into New York...I could be a zillionaire!!!

          • oh gonna go over to the dark side and be a pusher for the junk, huh... ;) I hear juices and dairy products are next on the list...got any mint chocolate chip ice cream on ya?

          • I'm sayin'. So Notsosilent will be following in some pretty big footsteps. He's up to it. The demand for his contraband will likely be greater too.

          • I kinda laughed about it when His Nanniness first started all this. How long til he sends his minions undercover into convenience stores and renaissance faires in neighboring states to get video of how easy it is for anybody, even (gasp) "the children", to buy these things and then bring the nasty deadly things back into his Magic Kingdom of Gotham.

Soda and trans fats and popcorn Oh MY

          • Who can afford to buy a large soda at a renaissance faire? Ha! I got it easy. All my liquids are stored in a hidden ice-chest in the back of my booth.

          • Or like the Dark Dickwad. Only he was trying to use candy to lure cartoon characters to his mom's basement.

  • Shit! Why is it that everything this jackwad says and does remind me of George Orwell? I thought I was done with '1984' in 1970!

    • Man I'm screwed. I read "1984" in senior English, not a word about it being Life Studies/Econ/Sociology and it would be on the exam 30 years later.

*scanning that before clicking I realized it wasn't meant as a pun, but it could have been.

  • First of all other than "sodomy" laws perhaps, government had nothing to do with gay people's lifestyles. People could be gay as much as they wanted while being respectful of others and if they were together and wanted to call their relationship a marriage they could always find communities and people to consider their relationship at such and have it "blessed" as so by sympathetic people.

Second of all it is hilarious that by FORCING government to recognize their relationship as a marriage they are also FORCING people who do not agree to accept it as such which in essence is a violation of Constitutional rights upon those who disagree.

Third Michael Bloomberg as indicated, is NO ONE to tell them that they have more rights than me while at the same time taking away rights from me AND them as well, because I am sure that gay people eat and drink things that Mikey Boy disapproves of.

    It is all around ridiculous.

  • "New York is a place where you can do whatever you want to do...The government should get out of your personal life."

Mayor Mussolini is irony proof. Il Duce wants regulate every aspect of your life, unless you're gay (and you vote). Then his honor becomes a strict libertarian, he'll let gays marry so long as they don't consume 32 ounce sodas, smoke cigarettes or consume transfats at the wedding reception.

The mayor considers the bedroom a sexual fortress of solitude, everything else New Yorkers possess, however, is subject to his arbitrary, intrusive rules.

  • Yeah, Gov't should.... Unless the govt feels you can't govern your own personal life. Then the govt can and will govern it!

  • Someone should tell Bloomtard that if NY City is such a great place under his enlightened leadership, then why are so many people leaving in droves?

    • That's my favorite expression when it comes to politics. It's unbelievable what these people are willing to say, and they feel no shame.

  • He really said that? If it keeps going this way, think about 10 years from now! In the name of choice and "government getting out of our personal lives" we will be under tyranny. November MUST be the beginning of the end of all this. But don't wait until then.. pray now!
