Media Matters declares victory over Fox News. Talk about delusional. Aren’t these the same people who made fun of George Bush for giving a speech under a “Mission Accomplished” banner in 2003?

  • Gee. Silly me. I always thought news people were tasked with reporting things that had happened or were in the process of happening. Preferably in an objective manner. Didn' realize they declared wars . On each other. What a waste of resources!

    • OF COURSE they're worried about FOX News, Kick. ANY time a significant portion of the nation (even if it's only 3%) is getting all of its information from a propaganda outlet, and voting accordingly (usually against their own best interests), that's a big concern.

        They're only concerned because there are some people who aren't getting information from THEIR propoganda outlet!

        • As I pointed out in an earlier post, a recent study showed that FOX News regular viewers tested out to be less informed than people who never watch any news shows at all.

          FOX was the only current events outlet whose viewers tested that poorly.

        Finally words from you I can fully agree with- though I seriously doubt I agree with your meaning. There isn't a single network "news" outlet that isn't a propaganda mill unfortunately... including (IMO) FOX News- which leans further right than MSM news but it's debatable whether they actually lean right or just appear to do so in the midst of the hard left water carriers for the Progressives.

          I agree with the rest of your comment, though. That's one of the problems with a "let the free market take care of it" philosophy on current events reporting: news stations aim for popularity, rather than truth or accuracy in reporting.

          It's long been a gripe of mine that U.S. television doesn't provide enough current events information about the rest of the world. The only time we hear about events overseas is when we're playing a key role in them. As a consequence, we as a nation are really pretty ignorant how most of the rest of the world lives, what they think, and how their perceptions differ from ours.

          • So go to European Journal on PBS. You'll get all kinds of European news. Most people in America are too stupid to keep up with what's going on here, much less in other countries. Even so, a large proportion of the broadcast news outlets report on Global happenings, so you are talking out your a$$ again. Since you don't watch TV, you have no clue what is reported. Remember that suggestion that you stick with what you know? Good advice.

          • Please, Olivia, the cable providers offer, BBC news, NHK (Japanese news), Russian news, multiple Spanish language news outlets, Canadian news, and even Al Jazeera. If one is looking for an international perspective, he need not look far. Add the Internet and one has an almost unlimited supply of news sources from all points of the globe.
