Hate to be devil's advocate here .....but, didn't we replace a bunch of loser democrats with Republicans in the last few years? Logic would dictate that by replacing hacks with winners, you're gonna increase the cumulative wealth of said group. Of course they lost fat drunk Teddy in 2009. I would think his eleventy gazzilion dollars being removed from the data would skew the results the other direction.
If the besotted POS was still alive the increase would be more like 45% :)

Members of Congress who participate in insider trading should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We cannot continue to have a two-tier legal system with laws that we must obey but that does not apply to the "political class". That's called a monarchy not a democracy and we had a revolution in 1776 in order to keep that from happening here. I will support and sponsor or co-sponsor any bill that makes insider trading by members of Congress a serious crime. The ones who participate in insider trading should be voted out, prosecuted and jailed. They are stealing from all of us!
Them and their family (ones that benefited) should be bankrupted also.

Teri, the law I'd like to see is a "No exemptions" law -- where if Congress passes a law restricting a behavior, then they also are restricted. If they create a medical plan for themselves, then all the US gets the same medical plan. That covers not only insider trading, but also whistleblower protection.
Any representative who attempts to influence or intimidate law enforcement should be immediately cast out of office.
They made themselves exempt. We, the people, need to vote them *all* out. They're all a bunch of crooks.
Congress' salaries have been a great bone of contention since I remember.
It is outrageous the lack of personal responsibility these people have.
