Metropolitan Opera romanticizes one NYer’s murder. In 1985, Palestinian terrorists hijacked a cruise ship and shot a wheelchair-bound WWII vet in the head, then dumped his body overboard. NYC’s Met thinks this would make a good opera.

I see the Met has cancelled the performance. They must have finally realized that alienating every Jewish person on Planet Earth would not be good for business in New York.

Good grief. (I seem to be saying that a lot lately.) The people involved in the "arts" are often the most vapid people one can meet - full of themselves, wrapped in their artistic cloaks like flashers waiting to pounce in the park, and deeply incurably dull in a way that terrifies them deep inside. In the end, after all their posing, as this opera demonstrates, they mostly lack any vestige of discernment.
