• Wow, we are really in my neighborhood now. The Branns are longtime family friends. I can remember when an uncle's wife threw him out of the house and one of the Branns gave him an apartment over one of the restaurants. And another uncle spent so much time and money in Branns restaurants they almost named a barstool after him. When I was a youngster I walked into a Brann's restaurant to sell Amway cleaning products and Tommy, the guy mentioned in the link, bought stuff even though I had a feeling he didn't really need anything. I felt so guilty about trading on my last name that I neglected to send him a bill.

  I'm going there for dinner this weekend just to show Tommy some support. I'll let you all know if the place is jammed. Like I'm always mentioning, this is a very conservative area of the country, so I'm guessing this will set well with people.

  • It just so happens that my cousin is here - daughter, actually, of the uncle who once lived above a Brann's restaurant. She comes here every two weeks to clean. So I told her Tommy had made the national news and she informed me she saw the commotion on Facebook and the comments were mostly negative. WTF? Only thing I can think of is that Facebook attracts a primarily liberal crowd. I still think the restaurant will be packed this weekend with people who support Tommy's gesture.

    • I hope they post armed guards at the entrance to keep fat boy out.

• I smell a lawsuit coming. Moore will want to be paid in ice cream.
