Michigan legislature passes right-to-work in spite of union protests. It was an exciting day here in Michigan. Both the House and the Senate passed right-to-work legislation while Democrats threw hissy fits and paid union protestors screamed obscenities. At one point eight union thugs tried to rush the Senate floor and had to be tear-gassed and arrested. Meanwhile, President Obama weighed in by calling the legislation a “roll-back” of worker rights… even though it’s actually an addition to worker rights. That’s why it’s called “right-to-work,” Mr. President. Finally, after decades of having no rights, conservatives in unions won’t have to support Democrats with their union dues anymore.

Cash strapped state governments that are now being forced by it's constituents to be more responsible will make the nations overall employment numbers look better. You just know the O administration with the the help of the LSM will spin it to make it look like it's all their doing.

Obama isn't worried about workers rights, he's worried about campaign dollars coming from the unions, and now there is a chance that there will be fewer of those dollars for him and the Dems.

Poor "Dear Leader" didn't get his way this time. Who knows maybe some of his supporters will get a job because of this, though I highly doubt it.

Barry had to come to the aid of his bed friends. Without the union dollars and their buses, strong arm tactics he would not be in the WH today. The working people are sick and tired of the union bosses living large while screwing their membership. Yes I'm a member of a fraternal organization and I call the leadership out when I disagree with them. It's my dues and I'm damn sure going to stand up for what I believe in.
I get daily emails from a conservative UAW member who despises Obama and the Democrat party. Imagine how he feels reading about the tens of millions of dollars his union spends electing Democrats. I should ask him if he wants to be interviewed about his feelings regarding the Michigan legislation.
I'll look for it, I know I read it (bizzyblog?), national unions from outside Ohio shipped in protestors and spent $40 million fighting this here a year or two ago. Prop 5 maybe, now I'll have to look or it'll drive me nuts.

Not gonna happen. Michigan has a Republican Senate, Republican House, and Republican governor. This is possible because all the people left Detroit like a giant toilet was flushed, so the big city politicians no longer run roughshod over the rest of the state. Illinois still has Chicago and its endless supply of Democrat morons.

Headline today was that Detroit is declaring bankruptcy. I didn't bother reading the article. Obama is coming to Detroit Monday or Tuesday, so I'm expecting some kind of bailout which will make me scream in frustration.
An odd aside: one of the Democrat legislators on TV last night screaming and doing his best imitation of Jesse Jackson's cadence was Coleman A. Young II, the son of the 20-year mayor who ran the city into the ground. That people are stupid enough to elect the son of the cause of their misery says all you need to know about big-city Democrat politics.
Detroit sucked when I visited there in 1985, & I cannot believe it's any better. Some thing never change.
