We love Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels. Some people say he’s the dullest politician alive, but if you like fiscal discipline, this guy’s a rock star. He’s made his state one of the few that’s not drowning in debt in this horrible economy.
“The issue is spending, first and foremost,” Daniels said. “You’d really be amazed at how much Government you’d never miss.”
He contends that eliminating unnecessary government actually makes the necessary parts of government operate more efficient.
Daniels-Christie 2012. Fiscal sanity is cool again.

So let's see.... dull man who has money sense vs exciting man who is irresponsible... if those are my choices I am going to go for the dull man who has money sense. We may not have a lot of laughs but at least I'll have security.
I recently saw an article regarding promised vs real job growth since Obama was elected. It was explained in a bar graph, and broken down into several areas such as health care, service industry, government etc. While EVERY area showed far less growth than promised, in the arena of government jobs, the increases were striking to say the least. Government was the only area to be even close to its predicted growth level, and that growth was around 10 times the growth in all other areas. I can believe how much government you can live without!
