You're right of course. I've always said myself that these are people who have a psychopathological hatred and/or fear of liberty. The leaders aspire to turn everyone into borgs. Most of their supporters aspire to be borgs. They are all hard-wired that way.
But nevertheless, if confronting one of these people one-on-one, that would be my approach. Though I would not expect any long-term change. In the best case, I might elicit a "Yeah, I guess you're right". The next day, it would all be forgotten. Once a robot, always a robot.

Obamacare is likely to collapse under its own weight, which will be good, except for the people who get sick while it's doing so.
