Instead of reaching for the sky Nasa now says it is falling: A new study sponsored by Nasa’s Goddard Space Flight Center has highlighted the prospect that global industrial civilization could collapse in coming decades due to unsustainable resource exploitation and increasingly unequal wealth distribution. Nasa should dial back the Malthus and realize that they might be correct but not at all in the way they think. Resources will become scarce as powers of production are removed from the people and placed in the hands of those that can create nothing but debt. A situation that will not be resolved by further stealing from the makers to enrich the takers.

Oddly, this government study echoes the White House propaganda.
It is pure Utopian fantasy. Not an original thought to be found. All the core elements of progressivism are there: control of the masses, control, of resources, control of eliminating undesirables, and the creation of the administrative state.

I downloaded this study the day before yesterday and gave it a go-over. All three of the authors are socialists, two of them Argentinian. The study itself is a mathematical model that is extremely weak on variables and highly predictable. The section on predatory cycles of rabbits and wolves is typical - as predators rise in number, the number of rabbits goes down, and as the number of prey goes down the number of predators then decreases, prey re-populates and then the predators do too, and the sine-wave cycle of simplistic socialist pap runs on and on. This has never been rocket science, but now apparently it is.
To summarize the study: we are going to run out of stuff, except for those that have more of the stuff and they will run out of stuff sometime after we run out of stuff. Those damn people with more stuff should share their stuff with everybody and then we will be saved (because there is enough stuff to go around). This model is crap, just like NASA lately.
Simpletons. There are no predators in a market where there is no coercion. And if they are they are quickly put out of business by the consumers ability to choose the competition and industries need of strong middle class savings accounts so that banks can loan out money for expansion. It is only when competition is legislated out of business and expansion is funded by credit (money supply) expansion that the predators occur. And each and every time they are a government regulation in businessman's clothing.
Lets face it folks, NASA has become just another over-sized government bureaucracy.
What in the bloody hell does this have to do with space flight?

It seems to me that they're just sucking up to King Barky so they can get their funding restored. I refuse to believe that a group of people with that much brainpower can be that stupid.
I don't think it is the Cal Tech and MIT grads doing this. I think the administration planted their progressive adherents in NASA for cover.
