When we look into the Bible, we find the word "reverend" refers only to God Himself, and not once is it applied to a man. The lone instance of the word, found in Psalm 111:9 in the King James version, says: "He [God] sent redemption unto His people: He hath commanded His covenant for ever: holy and reverend is His name." God alone has a name worthy of reverence. No man, including any minister, has a name worthy of such respect or worship.
These are the same liberal yahoos who had a Muslim prayer service in their church, which as far as I'm concerned means they are no longer a Christian congregation. They can keep calling themselves the "national cathedral" all they want, but it's pure bullshit. They worship the idol of political correctness, not God.
That's the equivalent of a dog pissing on a fire hydrant to claim his territory.
This type of stuff is simply a way for the leftist control freaks to test the limits of their power and influence. They don't really care about the outcome, it is just a test. If it works they know their propaganda and demagogery is working and their opposition is bullied and on the defensive. If it doesn't work, they know they have to lean on the MSM and the Sharptons of their party to press the propaganda efforts a little harder. These 'tests' are most likely being done in preparation for something big they do care about that is soon planned.
We just went down the rabbit hole. Any time some wacko says or does something, our political opportunists use that as "justification" to ban it. So we're always just one wackjob from banning scissors, rocks, lawn mowers, and anything else.
I think the concept of purging our history on this (or any other) basis is pathetic. Then again, our country's leadership is pathetic, so I guess I have no right to be surprised.
I've asked elsewhere but is the left any better than ISIS as it destroyed the relics in Palmyra, Syria in much the same way the left is purging what it doesn't like? Erasing history is erasing history.
