NBC commentator cross-dressing at Olympics to show support for gays. He covers figure skating so cross-dressing is kind of redundant, isn’t it?

  • I had a conversation with,...uh,....I'll call him a gentleman. A very nice guy, interesting in many ways. I was talking to him about a beautiful reproduction of an old wheel-lock gun, that he had made himself.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheellock

As it turns out, this guy was born a man, had a full on sex change, and continued to dress and live as a man. For the life of me, I'll never understand what's going on with that. But then again, it doesn't really matter to me, does it?

    • See that's the kind of thing I think qualifies them as crazy. If he was going to live as a man anyway, why undergo the preparation, the cost, the trauma of such surgery. I don't see it, but then I am 100% hetero, with me as the girl, and a for real guy as a partner.

      • My point was, as long as this person paid for their own treatments, what business is it of ours?

    • So wait... he had sex change surgery and then continued to live as the gender he was in the first place?

      Wow.

  • Gays like those of the same sex. Cross dressers are generally heterosexuals that like to wear clothes of the opposite sex. Transgendered have had (or are in the process of having) surgery to redesign their genitals to match how they see themselves. There are a few gays who dress in drag (not real crossdressing) usually as a performance persona. When NBC calls says gays are cross dressing, they are wrong on both counts. Besides, why is everyone on guys who dress as women, but no one cares if women dress like men, in trousers, suits, ties, etc.? its all a waste of time and energy.

    • I am more confused than before your explanation. If gays don't dress as women, but they do dress in drag and go to drag shows, even though they don't like women, then why...?

      Never mind.

      • Gays dress in drag for performances. So do heterosexuals. There are crossdressers that just like to dress in women's clothes; they are not usually gay, just like the clothes.

        • All the more reason for people like NBC to shut the F*** up when they don't understand the difference and are disseminating incorrect information to the public. This applies to a number of subjects!

  • Lets be honest, IT'S FIGURE SKATING. I don't expect most guys involved to be straight. I just don't. Basically, the only sport I give a crap about is hockey. Both men's & women's. I do watch other Olympic sports, but more or less, I view Olympic hockey like World Cup soccer. Best players in the world playing for their nation, & the USA could very well win gold for the first time since 1980.

    • Well Dany, check out the Russian babes in the link I posted above, and you might be interested in Curling too!

    • I hate to rehash the same argument every Olympics but I think if you need judges to grade the performance it's not a sport. That should be the rule used to pare the Olympics down to a reasonable size.

Believe it or not that would mean the end of ski jumping because believe it or not they JUDGE the ski jumpers, they don't just give the gold medal to the poor schlub who went the farthest. Who knows why.

Figure skating is nice, the music is pretty, I can see the effort and athleticism, but it's not a sport - it's dancing on the ice. Nobody is trying to knock you on your ass while you pirouette, nobody cares who jumped the farthest, or the highest, and nobody cares who skated the fastest. Essentially it's no different than Miley Cyrus twerking.

      • Actually they DO care who skates the fastest (they can't jump of they don't have adequate speed) and they do care who jumped the highest (can't do a quad what ever it is unless you have amazing height, speed, and control to land thejump/ I realize that many don't care for figure skating, particularly men; but there is real athelticism required for figure skating. They take impacts as hard a a bull rider, pull g-force like a jet pilot. Just like dancing (also seen as not very athletic) they require enormous control, presence etc. I'd like to see you do one of those spins, then immediately return to skating. I would be so drunk from the spinning I wouldn't be able to stand up. Just saying.

        • All that may be true, but it's still not a sport. Nor is most of the skiing and snow boarding. If you need a judge to decide based on his or her opinion who won, it's not a sport. Everything you just said about ice dancing could be said about all sorts of mundane activities, like climbing a telephone pole to fix a line or winning a gang fight or running from the cops after robbing a party store... but they are not sports.

And g-forces like a jet pilot? Not even close. Modern jet pilots need special suits designed just to TRY and keep blood in their heads, that's what kind of g-forces they endure. Your average skater would faint within three seconds.

  • Ummm, from what I know, most gay men don't dress in drag. They dress like heterosexual men. You can't tell just by the way they dress. So this bozo has committed a thoughtcrime and the PC thought-police should jump down his throat, pronto.

I myself don't care, I haven't watched the Olympics for years and this silliness doesn't make me want to. And I'm even LESS prone to watch them when they're on the Nothing But Clowns network.

    • Yeah, he's offending gay men and causing the lesbians to snicker with contempt, but on a positive note the transsexuals are no doubt twittering with delight.

  • You know, it's just about time to add a new extreme sport to the ever growing list of new and stupid Olympic's sports events, but this one would probably go over big time in Russia; I suggest we add the "Two Man (LGBT) Queer Toss." The event would require each two man team to toss an (LGBT) comparable object off of a high bridge and far out into a deep river or some other moving body of water. To win a perfect score the "Queer" object must not resurface. It is, as I have already said, a new sport and I don't have all the details, so I'm open to suggestions, before I present this to the Submissions Committee.

  • It would be too funny if Putin decided to make an example of him and sent him off to siberia for 20 years! He could do a lot of ice skating.
