The new California state flag: Long may it flutter limply in a breeze that’s polluted by evil big business

She’s a brand new, grand new flag. And we hope you non-Golden Staters will join us in saluting her.

C’mon, Governor Moonbeam. New York and Illinois are just as determined to become the first state to declare bankruptcy as we are. Don’t let them beat us out. Let’s make California number one.

  • YT and Ruben-Mexico already has CA! The amount of money that leaves Cali for Mexico keeps Mexico's economy going. The amount of dope that goes into Cali keeps mexico going. the amount of people's pension checks that are sent to mexican citizens keep mexico going. And a lot of crime, and drugs leave CA for the rest of the US-which begs the question-why don't we let those guys down south of the border have it? I would love to see the asshats in san fran squirm when 5 or 10 million mexican aliens showed up on a sunday, wehn they were all right in the middle of their weekly pagan ritual, sacrificing a christian child, or having a mass abortion, and boom-5 million mexican dudes, all recently sprung from Jalasco Prison, wiht a gun in their belt, and horny for a white chick! Ohhhhhhhh the humanity!
I just hope robin of berkeley gets out of there before it all goes down!

  • I've studied the history and know that at one time California was part of 'The Wild West', where me were men, women were women, and everyone had the pioneer spirit that America was built on... Somebody from California explain to me "What happened to your state?"

    • the boomer generation hippies never left. After they all retire or die maybe CA can be turned around. But when they die it will only be mexicans left so there's a better chance CA will join mexico

      • Aha... read through every post to find if anyone would touch on it and YT did. I believe all of this is by design to do two things, though:

        1) Export people of means and production, in order that California be vacated, thus be ran by those staying behind as a de facto NW state of Mexico (just watch how much more money goes south of the border once that happens). Can you say Aztlan?
        2) Export Kalifornication via idiots fleeing the substandard living conditions their political folly created while failing to leave that baggage at the border. Kalifornicators have already ruined CO, OR, WA, NV and they are spreading out to inadvertently ruin other states and, at the least, counties they migrate to. The movie "Independence Day" is a perfect metaphor.

  • Trinity, while that 600M figure may seem big, it is NOTHING compared to the state employees' union mandated pensions, which actually have a yearly nut that is LARGER THAN THE ENTIRETY OF THE COST OF THE STATE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM IN CALIFORNIA! That is real money......600M isn't but a drop in the ocean in comparison! In fiscal year 07/08, they paid out $2.75 billion-that is not inclusive of the medical costs for those employees! Just 2.75 in cash payments to retired state workers.
The state boasts a liability to its retirees of $3.35 TRILLION dollars to current and retired employees. Yes-that says Trillion. So, 600M is pocket change. It is truly disgusting-and truly amazing to me that you can work your whole life in a private sector job and have a modest pension after 30 years of work-but you work for a state that is run by unions-and after a short 10 or 15 year career-you are on the beach at the expense of the taxpayers-and if you want an adadicktome operation-you get that too!

Here is a terrifying read for those of you who live in Cali!

    • Yur nothin' but a bunch of POOSIES... sorry guys, but we in the frozen wasteland that I call Ontario, Canada have you beat yet again.

California, population 35 million, debt $68 Billion.

Ontario, population 16 million, debt $212 Billion.

      You guys are AMATEURS! Ha!

  • now now now-while I have worked in/around hollywood for most of my life-I never lived there(for good reason), and to say I have a wimpy hollywood ass, infers that I am an "insider" there and engage in the "I will put it in anything with a heartbeat, including boys" hollywood mantra.....you know I am not that guy!

    Okay-1 Euro-don't be a sissy!

  • We here in Il-annoyed who are conservative, and having watched the ballot boxes get stuffed for so long, are anxiously awaiting the total failure of Quinn, the General Assembly, Daley, and all other libtards who run cities, counties, etc, in our state.
So, I challenge you fellas at IHTM.com to a bet. I have 5 EUROS that says we will beat you to bankruptcy court. How can I be so sure as to wager currency that is worth something you ask? Because we just raised property taxes (the all time biggest increase in state history), and we just raised the state income tax by 66%. At the same time, there was no call to stop spending-and the state won't stop hiring. The State Troopers' visa's with all the oil companies for buying gas are no longer being accepted by the oil companies that issued them, or any other fuel purveyors. There are cities and counties who are furloughing first responders as if they were factory workers, all the while paying the teachers' unions, the teamsters and the SEIU every penny of their ginormous pension plans..........furthermore, like Cali, one only has to work for the state for a decade, and one can then retire with 65% benefits and FREE health care, all the while our State's medicare is 18 months behind making payments, and only pays about 20% when they do finally pony up.
    We aren't far from oblivion!
The gauntlet is laid down-5 Euros-man enough to take the bet?

    • makes me glad our family fled Illinois to wisconsin with all they crap they did to my beloved state and my favorite city its a shame

    • 5 Euros? That are just as worthless as FRNs.

I think you'll be wrong only because IL will work some sweetheart deal where the Fed and/or treasury or even the teamsters pension will buy the bonds needed to float your worthless state government until Obama is out.

    • Men enough to kick your wimpy Hollywood ass, Harrison, but not men enough to take that bet. Who could possibly predict which band of corrupt socialist lunatics (pardon the redundancy) will fail first?

      • I`ll put 5 Yuan on Cal.
Any state dumb enough to re-elect the guy that got them in this mess after 30 yrs. has got to be first.

  • Even the kalifornia state propaganda bureau states that their own regulations cost a business 35% of the cost of goods. Let's put that into some employee perspective. You hire three employee in the Glorious Peoples Republic. Two of them stay in your factory, one goes to Sacramento to aggressively 'regulate' your business. That takes employee number two spends his time working to satisfy/fight back the third employee trying to kill your business. Net result is you have hired and are paying salaries, taxes, UE, health insurance, 401Ks for three but only one employee is actually getting product out the back door.

Is it any wonder that business is fleeing the Democratic People Republic of Kalifornia?

  • Gosh, it's gonna be a close race to the bottom....but I think it will be a photo finish with Kalifornia in first place, followed by Illinois and then NY.

  • Moonbeam, under his first debacle, began his attacks on Big Business. I see now reason why he would change. California has no chance to recover as long as this liberal hatred of revenue generating, Big Business continues. There is no amount of 'green' technology that can create and sustain jobs and tax revenue. The 'green' debacle can't stand on it's own feet and will always require support from the public trough. The whole 'green' movement is based on a lie.

    • Ditto, ditto, ditto! When I was a child living in the Central Valley in a little farming town called McFarland, I distinctly remember loving my country and being proud of it. We were edified in school and taught well. I learned constitutional gvernment in the 6th grade, (a year later they substituted government with social studies), and I remember my dad, (big libtard that he was), praising that decision. I was too young at the time to realise that this was one of the many nails the Progmarxilists would use to nail the lid shut, (or so they think), on the lid of liberty. Caliornia used to have one of the best school systems in the country...now look at it. By any means necessary, we must take our nation back from these scum!
