So I actually had said I was skeptical of man made global warming in a conversation (still not entirely convinced either way) and one of the people there began to call me stupid and say things like "Oh its definitely being caused by humans".
Anyone not skeptical of the specifics on any science (I believe in micro evolution, but I still think macro evolution is insane) is the real stupid one.
Any science. Even the hard sciences have periodic revolutions where scientists realize everything they previously thought was wrong. Look at Newton and Einstein - for centuries Newton was practically a god and who could question his rightness when those doggone equations of his WORKED? Then along comes Einstein and points out that those Newton equations DON'T always work. Current theories of the universe require vast amounts of "dark matter" to exist, even though so far nobody has managed to find any such thing and the whole thing reminds me of when everybody assumed that space was filled with "ether," which they also could never manage to find.

When Michael(Mini-Mike)Mann uses tree ring data to prove his Hockey Stick Hypothesis the data is unimpeachable; later today 97% of all scientists on Planet Earth will denounce this study for using worthless tree ring data.
You have people like Michael Mann, who is currently director of the Earth System Science Center at Penn State, & Phil Jones who is the Director of the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia, who have been cooking the books & padding their numbers involving their "research". Basically, they are fraudster, using junk science to promote a political agenda. They want to get paid on top of getting gov't to make everything you do more expensive in the name of "global warming/climate change", & they should be under investigation to for trying to defraud the taxpayers.
They should go back under the rock they crawled out from.
