Cuomo just got the bill for setting up the background check system, and it was a little more then he planned on, by an order of magnitude I'm sure. Then someone might have whispered in his ear that the black market this would have produced would have made cigarette smuggling look like a minor affair.
Add in how well the so called "assault weapon" registration didn't work, and there you have it.
A couple of thoughts, He is a democrat therefore by nature a liar and con man. He is probably dropping this so he can do something even more devastating later on. No democrat gives up without trying every dirty trick in the book first. And maybe he thinks that since the Chief Justice of the supreme court has gone to the dark side, a total gun ban may make it past the supreme court.
Never trust any democrat.
Cuomo is covering his ass. He has other political ambitions and he is figuring out that legal gun owners are getting tired of being discriminated against.
Cuomo should just send out his law enforcement door to door & seize all firearms in NY. That is what he really wants to do, so why won't he just man up & do it? This goes for ANY anti gun politician. See how things turn out when you attempt to put that in motion.
They probably thought they were talking about suppositories.
Cuomo should use a 30mm canon shell as one.
