I don't know why people are trying to excuse Obama by saying he qualified his statement. He didn't qualify it until the next sentence. In that respect the two sentences are contradictory and the first sentence is still sitting there, a direct lie uttered by a U.S. president immediately after a tragic incident. It's disgusting, a cynical use of human death to advance his political goals. And as for the second qualifying sentence, "It doesn’t happen in other places with this kind of frequency," well, that's a lie too:

Among developed countries, the U.S. rate of mass shootings falls behind "Norway (recall the Anders Breivik massacre), Finland, Slovakia, Israel, and Switzerland." And that's just among developed 'civilized" countries.
Oh, and guess what: those top five countries all have restrictive gun policies.
I can't imagine an event so horrible that Obama could find a way to make it worse.
You haven't been paying attention to the Obummer and the other liberal loons Shaggy, this isn't nothing. He will use any tragedy, any excuse he can find, to push his gun control agenda. Unless it is Muslims killing Christians, that is ok.
I listened to Shillery speak at a rally in Nevada on another site and she did the same thing, made this murder of innocent people a political talking point. She, the Obummer, everyone of their ilk make me sick. They don't care about the victims or their families, all they care about is pushing their socialist agenda. And the very first step a socialist must take to control the population is to disarm the people. Believe me, they know it too.

Actually we are 26th on the gun violence list, there are 25 OTHER countries worse than we are. Obama's ISIS buddies are at the top of the list.....Funny how that gets forgotten when we have this conversation....
And none of those countries are as big as the US, have as many guns, or have a similar population. If they showed the killings per 100,000 citizens, we would probably be much lower on the list.
Don't worry, if Obama gets his gun grabbing ways I'm sure well rocket up that list.
And remember when the Chinese guy went berserk and started hacking people to death with a big knife? I guess that doesn't count because it wasn't a gun.
Quick question Mr. President: what would have happened in SC if one or two of those parishioners had been carrying?
That was the same week as Sandy Hook and it didn't make big news and when it was brought up people didn't want to discuss it.
