NFL ball scandal swells. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer quarterback Brad Johnson (actual name) admits paying “some guys” $7,500 to manhandle his balls before Super Bowl XXXVII. He wanted the balls roughed up so they wouldn’t be slippery.

Football? That's the oddly shaped pointy ones, right?

Yeah, that's the ones. I think I saw them on a commercial. A bunch of big guys, low IQ, most with a criminal background, knocking each other down and grabbing each other's ass. Never actually watched the show, not my cup of tea.
In high school I tried out for football. They gave me the ball and told me to run, then a bunch of oversize farm kids knocked me down and took the ball...I joined the baseball team...you hit the ball and someone gets it for you, you throw the ball and someone throws it back, No large fat kid sits on your head and takes the ball....
First time I ever ran with a football was in ninth grade. I was tiny because I hadn't gotten my growth yet, but so fast and fierce the coach made me a starting linebacker. Most of the guys I had to tackle every play were bigger than me but I loved it. In the big game at the end of the season, when the other team was threatening to score the winning touchdown, I read the quarterback's eyes and intercepted a pass in the flat. I had nothing but 80 yards of daylight in front of me and everybody in the county knew I was the fastest thing on two legs. This was going to be a touchdown and I was going to be a hero for sure.
Everybody caught me, all 21 guys out there on the field. Even big fat slow kids caught me. I didn't even make it to the 50. I could not figure out what to do with the damn ball! I'd never had to run with one of the stupid things before. Footballs are awkward as hell when you're a little ninth grader trying to carry one for the first time. I tucked it under one arm, then I tucked it under the other arm, then I tried holding it with both hands in front of me, it was a nightmare. I even thought about tucking it under my shirt so I would have both hands free.
When I got to the sideline, Coach looked puzzled. "Nice interception," he said, "but why didn't you run with it?"
I cannot believe this is still getting any attention at all. The whole thing is ridiculous, and the media could absolutely do something better with the time and energy being wasted on this. Stupid.
The seahawks need to have an air compressor on the sidelines to screw with NE
