N.J. woman hit with ball sues Little League player. She was sitting at a picnic table near a fenced-in bullpen when the then 11-year-old catcher apparently overthrew his pitcher and hit her. The lawsuit alleges the catcher’s errant throw was “intentional and reckless.” Eleven-year-olds are not the most accurate throwers on the planet – the moral of the story would seem to be either keep well clear of kids throwing baseballs or else be ready to duck.

Oi. I try not to be unnecessarily rude or unkind, but sometimes I really just want to walk up to certain people and tell them, "You know what? God loves you, but that doesn't mean you don't totally suck."

We really are in Bizarro World now. How - *how* - is this even moving forward? Ms. Lloyd was "sitting at a picnic table near a fenced-in bullpen when she was hit with the ball." How on Earth can anyone claim a boy practicing pitches and warming up for a game is 'engaging in inappropriate sporting activity' while doing so in a location designed for said specific sporting activity?
Heaven help us! What's next? "Yes, your Honor, my client is suing and seeking damages from the driver of the car that hit her while she was standing in the middle of the freeway. This driver and his car were clearly engaged in inappropriate moving while near my client."
I enjoy this website, largely because of the remarkable ladies who post here. It is my respect for them that keeps my language from being as salty as it could be.

I can't remember exactly how I found this site - I was following linked stories on various blogs - but when I first landed here, I thought, "Woo-hoo! I have *found* my people!" I cannot possibly agree more with the sentiment behind I Hate The Media. I would indeed frequently be crying if I couldn't find a way to laugh at what has become of journalism in this country.
That seem to be how I, and I suspect many others (including our resident trolls) found this site also.

Aside from the idiotic woman filing a law suit - the more important question to me is the attorney that actually accepted money for her claim and is bringing this action before the Court. What in the hell ever happened to "counsellor-at-law?" It is no wonder that lawyers in the US are admired 90% less than members of the US Congress and considered lower than the a-holes of a snake crawling in a wagon wheel rut. This woman should have NEVER found any lawyer worth his salt to take this case.

How can an 11 year old boy be held responsible for anything? He has no income, and presumably no assets. His family's homeowner/liability insurance is essentially being sued under the guise of suing the child. Hopefully, the child will be trotted out in court - looking as small as possible, and the jury will rule in his favor, rather than sticking it to the insurance company because "they can afford it". This is a prime example of why people who LOSE frivolous law suits should be required to pay a fine. It would dramatically lower the number of fishing expeditions that clog up the courts.
I remember pitching in high school, I could throw maybe two innings before my arm turned into jello. After that I would loose control and sometimes I would go over the backstop and hit a car or two...That's why I chose another career....For those two innings I could strike out everybody, after that, it was hardhats in the stands and every man for himself..I become a relief pitcher...There's no malicious intent to throw badly, Shes just another twit looking for money, If I was the lawyer I would be embarrassed to show my face..
