The problem is that too many people are so ignorant. Actually, worse than ignorant.
I am ignorant in the field of brain surgery. But the difference is that I don't have all sorts of imaginary knowledge about it. I know that I don't know anything.
I recall many years ago on another message board someone referred to Christie Todd Whitman as a "libertarian".
So many people take gov't involvement in absolutely everything as reality, like air, water, etc. And you see that in the debates. One side argues for this gov't meddling in something that the constitution gives the gov't no right to meddle in, and the other side argues for that meddling. But meddling is taken as beyond question. It's a given that the feds regulate education, energy, housing, labor matters, etc.
With that as a foundation for thinking (using the term loosely, in the same sense that Pavlov's dogs "thought" about the bell), it's no wonder that when you have a politician who favors some progressive stance on a social issue (such as gay marriage), while at the same time taking a seemingly conservative stance on an economic issue (such as being pro-business - note I am NOT saying "pro-free market", which is an entirely different thing), he is labeled a "libertarian". Even though the politician in question is as big-government as anyone can be (as Christie Whitman was).
Because real libertarianism is not even in the frame of reference of that person's thinking.
General Hayden is no libertarian. From his comments he must have thought he was speaking to the sheep and not the sheep dogs. Good to hear those at CPAC calling him a liar and calling him out.
The general needs to realize we (true conservatives) know fully what is going on and are willing to push back.
I heard they booed Bush and all his bussed in boot lickers too. The progressive liars are getting what they deserve, as in hopefully fired.
They did and many of the Tea Party folks that were there got up and exercised their right to all go to the bathroom at the same time. Jeb better realize we are not going to let another RINO weak knee msm selected candidate be the nominee.
