North Carolina city spent millions on electric buses that don’t run. A government so stupid, it hurts. Meanwhile, California Governor Gavin Newsom is going to blow a wad on electric buses. He’s like government even more stupid.
The city of Asheville, North Carolina, shelled out millions of dollars in 2018 to add five electric buses to its fleet. Now, three of the five sit idle, and city employees are telling the cautionary tale.
In the meantime, Asheville is staring down losses from a major investment. Morriss told WLOS that each bus cost at least $616,000, and the city had to spend another $200,000 for the installation of each charger, another $118,000 every year to lease batteries for the buses, and nearly $45,500 annually in electric costs to charge them.
She also noted that maintenance costs for the electric buses have topped $250,000.

Just like all the other public works, nothing works. Stop fooling yourself about all these EV greenie vehicles. Just a method to begin the control process of the freedom of movement.
Yeah, this isn't even close to being a unique story. This has happened to municipalities all over North America. Battery powered buses simply do not work. They can't stay in operation long enough to make it through a full work day because they run out of charge, they're enormously expensive to begin with, and then the maintenance costs are backbreaking. One thing the idiotic engineers who design them never seem to take into consideration is that the weight of the enormous battery packs they have to carry pretty much breaks their frames in half. It would be funny if it wasn't so stupid. It's a puzzle to me how the different engineers keep making the same mistakes. I think maybe what's happening is they can't get a legitimate engineer to work for one of these electric bus manufacturers, so they end up with third rate engineers who can't do the simple math involved in designing a frame that will carry X amount of weight.
And if you're a pedestrian in the vicinity of one of these monstrosities, always keep in the back of your head the fact that this behemoth rolling down the street weighs far, far more than your typical bus, and therefore may take much longer to stop or not be able to stop at all.
