Just wait until some of the states begin to secede, then watch Quagmire really freak out.
I wish utah would. tons of natural resources here but the feds stole all the land its under. People here are hard working and communities are strong. I think we could do fine without the fed.
Fact is, I think, most of us could. That's why it only has 18 enumerated powers listed in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constituition.

Cauz´ in the real world, Galt´s stronghold would be found and flooded by liberal voters and no 3 hourse speeches works on people with a 3 minutes attention-span, you would need some more direct persuasion.

Boy howdy, JP, it sure does. My wife and I had considered fleeing this bastion of fish-headedness... back up to the Dakotas, perhaps Wyoming, but the comparatively cheap travel out of DIA has kept us here in CO (I travel by air a lot and traveling out of Denver saves the company I run tens of thousands per annum).
The news about this new state effort heartens me. It also helps that I moved to a county whose sheriff is one of 55 here in CO vowing to shield us from the new state gun laws.
My husband and I left New York a decade ago to Connecticut when taxes were low and Liberals were still sane.

It won't matter. Once liberal f-up their state they start moving to red states. Look at what is happening in Nevada, Texas, Florida etc.
As a Floridian who does business in Texas, I see evidence of that everyday.

Well true but if this were to happen, old Colorado would lose electoral votes and the new state would have a couple that would go red. I see it as a gain because of the winner take all nature of the electoral college.
Yep. It's LA and SF that are driving California far left politics. Now Denver is driving Colorado politics. It's not surprising that leftist pols keep passing laws to force more people into high density urban areas for, ahem, environmental reasons.
Good for them. If more conservative counties in liberal states did this, it would change the mind set in a hurry.
