Not satire: WaPo’s surreal report on Holder’s off-the-record “press freedom” meeting. “Eric Holder pledged to take ‘concrete steps’ to address the actions of Eric Holder — up to and (possibly) including backing legislative action that would curtail Eric Holder’s ability to abuse Eric Holder’s power.” Well, ignoring the fact there supposed already is such a thing (we think it’s called the “First Amendment”) any new legislative action to curtail Eric Holder’s ability to abuse Eric Holder’s power would have to be enforced by Eric Holder, wouldn’t it? If he were interested in doing that, they wouldn’t needed to have had this “off the record” meeting to begin with. Well, let’s forget all this and just spin around in circles until we get dizzy, at which time it will make sense. That must be what Eric Holder does.

The catch is that Obama and Holder don't consider Fox News to be real news. Violating their rights doesn't affect 'real' journalism.
I love the 'off the record' part of this. Every try to have an 'off the record' discussion with a lawyer at the Justice Dept. to get things sorted out and the facts straight???? You know, what says in this room stays in this room. They would never use that stuff in court, would they..
Face it, Holder had a party and even the ugly girls didn't show up.
I imagine that meeting probably went something like this:
holder: ok, this is what i want fom you guys- cnn? make up the most outlandish crap you can think of. cnbc? you guys swing from the light fixtures, and msnbc- i want you making balloon animals. got it? remember- always blame the nra for something, and make me and the boss look good. we're counting on you!

The Obama regime, including Eric Holder, the IRS, & most gov't agencies under his control do not believe in the 1st amendment, let alone freedom of press
...if I'm wrong, why would any of what's happened be happening to begin with?

The progressives along with the Democratic party have groomed Obama for the position he is in, to do the very things he and his administration, including Holder and others, are doing. These people are as shrewd as they are evil. They knew the color of Obama and Holders skin would be a barrier to criticism. They have stacked the deck with race cards and they are, and will be played. The good thing is that they have gone so far the MSM has taken notice, and the race cards have been over played. Our hope now is that the people see the truth. The MSM will play a key part of accomplishing this. The evil intents of the progressive movement have been laid bare. Our future depends on whether it is destroyed or covered back up.
I agree stinkfoot. Until we see some concrete counter action to this unconstitutional behavior it will continue. If I was leading the house republicans I would call a news conference and announce that until all these corruption charges are vetted and verified, until the executive branch gives full cooperation, and the perps identified for prosecution, The State Department (Benghazi), DOJ (Fast-n-Furious, IRS, etc. etc.), IRS, EPA, and White House will receive 50 % LESS funding in the next continuing resolution to fund the government. All other agencies would get their normal allotment. So I'd sequester these criminal elements in the government and advertise it loud and clear. And I would do this for only a month at a time . If cooperation was not forth coming, I'd ratchet down the spending yet again the next moth. Especially on the WH. I'd have hearings and press conferences on what was found on this stuff every day. I'd make sure to have all republicans say all the time, in front of every camera (a la NY Schumer), we have to make sure government officals are following the constitution and laws, just like regular citizens need to do, and this is our only tool to do so (withholding funding) since
A) The Executive branch are not doing their jobs, and are possibly complicit in these illegal activities
B) the people who did these crimes have not yet been identified and held accountable. Make sure to say PEOPLE who did this need ot be held accountable and prosecuted under existing criminal statutes. Say it loud and often.
If the republicans would press this advantage they could save the republic and make poilitcal hay for themselves. Or they can groundhog as normal, comming out of their congressional offices to say some bland admonishment of the WH and say they are "investigating" before going back into their burroughs and reminiscing on how they are really, REALLY going to get tough on the dem's corruption, right after the next election...
I am not ungrateful that they are investigating to be sure. But this subversion of the constitution calls for action more than just talk.
While this is what should happen, unfortunately the whole bunch of them are so corrupt it's become a "Throw no stones in glass houses" effect. There's already enough evidence to begin impeachment proceedings, but instead it's going to be a endless progression of hearings, and nothing will get done.
Indeed... the hearings themselves effectively serve to stall any substantive action and seem intent on placating the masses and lulling us into assuming that something is being done... to borrow a bit of cringe-worthy political buzz wording- it's nothing more than a "dog and pony show".

I hate doing this blind, don't know you and don't want to "talk down" to you. But (there's that word again) if you haven't you should check your library.
The Kindle app I use on the laptop is free, and the selection of digital media at my library is pretty big. Not to mention the huge resources out there. (I have a copy of Stoker's 'Dracula' on the Kindle I got from Amazon for free)
And not just fiction. I've found a lot of the books many here recommend online. ie Mises, Hayek, etc.
There is also another free app on here from the library that reads 'E-books' (not Kindle format) but (again!) it also plays audio books, cds, or movies, that also are available from the library. And a lot of other places.

Thanks for the info. I'm on the web via a desktop computer and have stubbornly resisted any other form of electronic media- I only very grudgingly relented and actually got a cell phone a year and a half ago out of necessity.
The availability of electronics for reading is an impressive thing indeed. I use this machine for news gathering having relegated my television to storage over two years ago. I do leave comments when the option is available and I feel the urge to sound off- meaning I'm probably on more than a few watch lists because of my insistence on expressing my views in plain English on what the government and MSM is trying to pull off.
No worries on the babbling part- I do a fair amount of that myself- often wandering way off topic in the process.
Let me preface with this: I understand politics, but this is getting stupid.
Remember how many of these same politicians & journalists were calling for the head of Alberto Gonzales over a much, much, less serious charge?
It's funny how liberals hold conservatives to a much higher standard of behavior than they do themselves. I expect a lot from myself so I don't mind being held to a higher standard. Funny how pride and shame are now conservative traits only.
The sum total of all the scandals screams to me that the Bill of Rights and Constitution are irrelevant because they are only being talked about and not enforced. It seems pretty cut and dried that people like Holder have knowingly and willfully violated that which they are supposed to uphold and until it is actually given the force of law that propagandists are quick to assure us that it has I see little choice but to assume that the progressives have annexed the US government and until they are forcibly removed and incarcerated for their multiple crimes against not only the state but its citizens this is not longer a free country in any way shape or form.
All entities who have sworn an oath to uphold and protect the constitution and have done nothing about this are complicit in it and need to be held accountable as well. Hint to the military: this enemy is at least to some extent a domestic one- and Eric Holder is just one small but important part of it.
