Now that really IS crossing the line… Road crew paints yellow strip over raccoon carcass. Well, if there ever was a case for paying bloated salaries and benefits to government workers to ensure they get the cream of the crop, this is it! /snark

Here's the deal---These guys blew a hole in Obama's "making it work" policy. Public Union street painting truck driver sees dead critter and is supposed to stop but not before letting Public Union painter in the back of the truck know so he can call his Public Union assistant painter to turn off the paint machine. None of these folks can get out to move the carcass because that is against Public Union rules. If they call it in, they can stop and wait for Public Union animal control guy to get to the scene (somewhere between 3-4 hours) but then when Public Union animal control guy sees that the critter is "all dead' (not just "mostly dead") he must then call Public Union street maintenance guy who has the shovel (it will take him 4-5 hours to arrive, too, but that's because he has to get his 8-person "crew" rounded up). In the meantime, up ahead of all this, accidents are occurring because there is no center strip, so Public Union policed officer(s) and Public Union firefighters and Public Union paramedics are busy responding to emergencies. By now everyone of the Public Union folks are on Overtime. S0 as you can see--stimulus and full employment. Just like our Dear Leader has commanded.
AZ Dude, you wrote that like you wrote the union contract!
The accuracy is scary!
I used to live in California......
Things are not much different in other states, a union thug is a union thug.
Check out some of the neocommie quotes from their little rally in Philly today,"Trumka slammed those he said don’t believe America can afford “retirement security,” health care, union wages, " Oh, Little Debbie was there too.

And the raccoon wasn't in a union so he got what was coming to him, right?
Yup--Richard Trumka made the call
"All dead, as opposed to just mostly dead", thanks for the chuckle. Gonna hang on to that one for future use.
Credit goes to Billy Crystal as Miracle Max in The Princess Bride....
Noted, Billy C. via AZ Dude.
Reminds me of the street crew in Stockton a few years ago that painted a road with the word "SOTP" at a stop sign........These painters must have been graduates of the Caltrans (California Department of Transportation) institute, where they train you when working on a road crew it takes 12 guys to hold shovels and stand in place while the 13th guy actually moves some dirt...
I dropped my County vehicle off at our Fleet Maint. a couple weeks ago for service and saw a photo on their shop billboard that showed a striping truck painting lines on the shoulder of the road with a perfect line around a dead possom. Not over the top of it like the above photo-it was a nice stasight line, then a perfect semi-circle around the critter, then back to nice and straight. The caption below the photo said "It's not my job..."
It appears I got thumbed down by an angry Caltrans worker....Ohhhhh the pain...hehe
Yeah, they don't like hearing the truth. Like you said about having 12 guys to watch one work--a few of those guys are job supers and foremen just to make sure the shovel operator makes them look good.
Just remember: "Slow For The Cone Zone"
But, that "SLOW" is supposed to be for people driving by, not people working.
Anybody or thing who claims to be middle of the road has a yellow streak down their back
Yeah, well, everybody knows streetwalking is a dangerous occupation.
Geez, JP...what's with you? lonely or something? You seem to be obsessed with THAT occupation here lately.
Obsessed? Two times equals obsession?
Twice in a row even! Had to smack ya to stop the third! Especially since the first was in reference to me.
In a row? Now you've crossed the line.
Me? What about you? Stop making inappropriate passes...this is a no passing zone!
Oh Lord, flirt puns? Really? I'm not flirting unless your car has a solid chassis, shiny grill, and big bumpers.
solid chassis...I lift 400 lbs big bubbas off of the tables...check
shiny grill...I get complimented on my smile on a regular basis...check
big bumpers...uhm front end or back end? :???:
Awe, fweetness is jealous again.
No, re-read what I typed...there was a "but" in there. :)
No ifs, ands, or butts about it, eh?
You don't have to pretend that you didn't hear the question...you really didn't hear it, but you did acknowledge that you read it. Still it is within your rights to plead the fifth...(dammit...pesky constitution :P )
so on the bumper deal...let's just say half check and leave it at that.
I see no way to continue without saying something wrong... so like all wise men everywhere I will pretend I didn't hear the question.
Ohhh boy, here we go.
i would've done it too. hell, i'd paint over a moose carcass if i could. just sayin'...
Why did the raccoon cross the road?
No, why did the raccoon only go halfway across the road?
Answer: He was feeling run down.
It was probably a "stimulus" project.
Q: How many "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act" funded workers does it take to paint over a dead racoon on a highway?
A: About 100,002 - one to hold the paint brush and 100,000 to move the highway (and one to position the racoon!)
It was a stimulus project, so it seems to me that OBAMA HATES RACOONS! We should do a SuperPAC Ad on it - it would make as much sense as theirs.
OBAMA KILLS INNOCENT RACCOON!!!
