NY AG Tells Retailers: Stop Selling Toy Guns Immediately. We were unaware Sony ran so many stores.
New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has sent cease and desist letters to major retailers like Wal-Mart, Amazon, K-Mart, Sears, and ToyArsenal telling them to stop selling toy guns to New Yorkers.
And of course, the major retailers caved immediately.

OK folks, this is silly, but not as silly as all that:
"Unless there is a one inch wide orange line running down both sides of the gun as well as the front end of the barrel, NY law prohibits the sell of realistic looking guns."
So it isn't a ban on ALL toy guns or anything, not a dictatorial edict, just a warning to comply with a law already on the books.
Meanwhile, criminals are painting orange stripes on their Glocks.
